The 2023 Hyundai Palisade got a major revamp for its debut on Wednesday at the New York auto show. The company's eight-passenger, three-row SUV gets new bumpers and headlights, instrument panel and gauges, new ways to connect and new ways to be safe.
However, the 2023 Palisade, which goes on sale later this year, does continue with the same 3.8-liter V8 making 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is still optional.
Starting with the design, the Palisade was updated with a new lighting signature with vertically connected LEDs around a redesigned grille. The bumpers are new in both front and back and even the skid plate gets a new design. New, 20-inch alloy spoke wheels sit at the corners while rear-wheel deflectors help with aerodynamics.
Inside, the Palisade features a driver's seat that Hyundai says will reduce fatigue on long drivers. Heat for the third row is also new, as is ventilation (in addition to heat) and new headrests. In the front seats, drivers and passengers get a new full digital display rearview mirror that links to a camera on the back, avoiding any in-car obstructions. Hyundai also redesigned the instrument panel and added new light themes.

The second-row seats can be folded and slid out of the way for easy access to the third row, which now offers power folding and reclining as well. USB-C outlets pepper the cabin for faster charging and Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert will detect movements of kids and pets in the back seat, and alert the driver with the horn or a smartphone.
On the tech front, wireless charging has been upgraded from 5 to 15 watts for faster charging. The SUV also supports Hyundai's digital key, which can be used through an iPhone, Apple Watch, or Samsung Galaxy phone to lock and unlock the vehicle. Owners can also share keys with their friends through the same system. The Palisade is also the first Hyundai to offer Wi-Fi.
Hyundai expanded the safety features on the Palisade to including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Lane Following Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist and more.
A new Palisade XRT trim will join the lineup with a dark hue on the wheels and grille. It also comes with unique front and rear fascias with a new skid plate element, a sunroof and black leatherette seats.
Hyundai didn't announce a price for 2023 Palisade, but the current model starts at $34,595 and tops out around $50,000. Don't expect the new prices to stray too far from that.
