Remembering 'Cheers' Star George Wendt

We all wanna go where everybody knows our name, but especially if George Wendt is gonna be there. Most famous for playing Norm on CheersWendt died Tuesday at the age of 76. From the 1980s to 1990s, Wendt's Norm became the best friend we all knew: a little ornery, a little lazy, but fiercely loyal and that perfect friend to get a beer with.

Wendt was nominated for 6 Emmys for his performance as Norm, and they were all deserved. If you're looking for a Norm centered episode of Cheers to watch to celebrate Wendt's life, I'd recommend "The King Of Beers" (season 11, episode 3). What makes this episode so great is that it saw Norm get a win–something he rarely ever got because he was perpetually unemployed. In the episode, Norm is offered a job he's perfect for: a beer taster. But honestly, every episode of Cheers is perfect and I highly recommend you watch it.

Wendt's passing is particularly bittersweet because it came the day after the show's 32nd anniversary of the Cheers finale. The Cheers finale is often mentioned as one of the best last episodes of a TV series of all time and was watched by a whopping 80 million people. To this day it is one of the most watched moments on television.

That's it for me today. Keep scrolling for more entertainment news. I'll see you Friday.
