There are few nights that pop culture obsessed people like me genuinely look forward to: the Oscars, the Super Bowl halftime show, and the Met Gala. That's because they just bring a level of celebrity that you just don't see very often. And on top of that, it's a mix of celebrities that you so rarely see in the same space. It's just visual eye candy that I can't get enough of.
And this year for the first time, the Met Gala will exclusively highlight Black designers, and for the first time in two decades, the focus is on menswear. The exhibition and gala draw heavily on the tradition of Black dandyism. The Met's description of the theme notes that, "Historically, the term 'dandy' was used to describe someone—often a man—who is extremely devoted to style and approaches it as a discipline."
The dress code, titled "Tailored for You," invites attendees to interpret dandyism and the broader tradition of Black style through individualized tailoring and personal flair. Expect precise cuts, lush fabrics, and styling choices that push beyond convention while honoring a long legacy of fashion as performance and statement.
This year's co-chairs are: Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, and Anna Wintour will lead the event, with NBA superstar LeBron James serving as honorary chair. The guest list is, as ever, star-studded. Anticipated attendees include Simone Biles, Angel Reese, Spike Lee, Regina King, Audra McDonald, Jeremy Pope, Janelle Monáe, Andre 3000, and Tyler, among many others.
And yes, speculation around the Kardashian presence continues, but the thing I wanna know is: Will Timothée Chalamet appear alongside Kylie Jenner?!

That's it for me today. I'll see you Wednesday with more.
