Get ready to go "My Heart Will Go On" levels deep with the fabulously creative (and genius) minds behind the Céline Dion-inspired musical Titanique!
So, everyone knows the film Titanic, right? Where Kate Winslet said she'd never let go but then, spoiler alert, she actually let go. (We all know Leonardo DiCaprio could have fit on that floating door). Well, Tye Blue, Constantine Rousouli, and Marla Mindelle had an idea: What if Céline Dion was somehow in the movie too? And then what if they turned the film into a musical parody featuring Céline Dion's music? That crazy idea became Titanique, now a global phenomenon of a live show in cities across the globe.
I chatted with them about how they turned one of the biggest blockbusters of all time into a campy, musical fever dream. We talk Céline, comedy, chaos, and how they managed to blend iconic 90s nostalgia with pitch-perfect parody. Watch it on YouTube!
(Oh, and speaking of classic movies, my favorite channel, Turner Classic Movies, is having a film festival in Hollywood this weekend. I'll be there, and so should you. Get tickets and check out the full list of activities).
That's it for me today. I'll be back Friday with more. In the meantime, watch my chat with the Titanique team, and have a great one!
