A 90-year-old grandmother is now officially recognized as the world's oldest video game YouTuber.

Hamako Mori, also known as "Gamer Grandma," has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the oldest video game streamer.

Born in 1930, Mori, who is from Japan, has been a video game lover for 39 years and boasts more than 270,000 YouTube subscribers.

"After living for this long, I feel more than ever that playing games for this long was the right choice. I am truly enjoying my life—it's rosy," Mori told Guinness World Records.

A lover of games like Grand Theft Auto V, Mori's affinity for video games started when she saw her children playing them.

"It looked so much fun, and I thought it's not fair if only children played it," she said.

"I thought life would be more fun if I knew how to play it. So I started playing, at first while no one was watching."

Mori's first console was a Cassette Vision and she "treasures" everything she has collected over the years because of the the fond memories they prompt.

Mori's YouTube channel launched in 2015 and she posts up to four videos a month. Her current go-to console is the Sony PlayStation 4.

"I didn't touch it until recently because it's difficult to play. But recent action games are visually spectacular, and they often use actors for characters," she explained. "So I'm really obsessed with it now."

In her videos, Mori entertains her subscribers by unboxing new consoles and broadcasting her gaming skills in play-through clips. She began uploading gaming videos to YouTube so she could share her experience with other gamers.

"It's such a waste if I'm the only one enjoying it," she said.

Mori s her favorite game, Grand Theft Auto V, is like "watching a film." She added: "I like it the best because it has age restrictions, so children can't play it."

As for her loyal followers, Mori is "touched" by their support.

"I receive a lot of comments saying don't work too hard. Everyone is so kind," she said.

"Their comments leave a strong impression on me, and makes me want to make more videos that people enjoy. I still look forward to everyone's comments.

"They also say watching my video gives them hope for the future. I feel so happy. That's why I want to create lots and lots of videos. That's my dream."

One of Mori's videos, titled 90-year-old gamer plays Dauntless, has more than three million views.
