Aaron Carter may have foretold his untimely death in an interview that has resurfaced from 2017.
The brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter was found dead in a bathtub at his California home on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene at age 34.
A couple of months before his 30th birthday, Carter revealed his greatest fear was dying young.

It came during an appearance on the talk show The Drs where the former child star talked about his bisexuality and took an HIV test on the show.
During the appearance, he spoke of his addiction to prescription medication and how he wanted to turn his life around after his and Nick's sister Leslie died of an overdose at age 25 in 2012.
"I came to The Drs, I came to Dr Jorge and I said, 'I need help, there's things going on with me. There's rumors, there's people that are body shaming me,'" he said.
He said he had dropped to 115 pounds and couldn't bear to look in the mirror.
"I mean there's also that worry, but I had to kiss my sister goodbye. That was a scary thing," he said.
Carter also told the audience his family knew he was on a cocktail of prescription medicine, including opioids, and had been obtaining them by attending different psychiatrists.
"I know there's no happy ending to those medications," he said. He was then asked, "What is your greatest fear?"
Carter took a second to gather himself before answering, "My greatest fear is not being able to live as long as I can."
"That's my greatest fear," he added.

Carter rose to fame at nine years old and had a career as an actor, singer, and rapper. He released four studio albums, including his 1997 self-titled debut.
It was his sophomore album, Aaron's Party (Come Get It), which put his name on the map after it was certified three times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Carter opened for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears on tour in his first few years as a pop star. He also appeared on a short-lived E! reality series House of Carters with his siblings, Nick, Bobbi Jean, Leslie, and Angel.
Carter's first son was born on November 22, 2021, but he lost custody of the baby over his drug addiction issues when he was 10 months old.
Nick spoke publicly on Sunday about his grief at losing his brother, despite their troubled relationship.
"My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed," 42-year-old Nick wrote in an Instagram post.
Nick added: "Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth....I love you baby brother."
Nick filed a restraining order against his younger brother in 2019, alleging he had made a "recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my wife and unborn child."
The singer released a statement on Twitter saying, "After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today," Nick wrote at the time. "We were left with no choice, but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family."
Carter wrote in reply on Twitter, "So my brother just got a restraining order against me. And I was just served lol...Take care. @nickcarter we're done for life." He later added, "I haven't seen him in four years. And I don't intend to ... I am astounded at the accusations being made against me, and I do not wish harm to anyone, especially my family."
