Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger issued a biting New Year prediction on Sunday about Donald Trump, labeling the former president as a "whining[...]victim."

Kinzinger, a Republican who has represented districts in Illinois from 2011 to 2023, has been a vocal Trump critic in the past, slamming the former president over various issues.

While serving in Congress, Kinzinger was among the 10 House Republicans who voted in support of impeaching Trump after the January 6, 2021, riot at the United States Capitol building, when a group of the former president's supporters violently protested the 2020 presidential election results.

Critics, including Kinzinger, say Trump's unfounded voter fraud claims motivated the rioters. The former president has always denied the accusations.

Kinzinger also served on the House committee investigating January 6 and has often faced attacks from Trump and his conservative allies. Kinzinger declined to run for reelection in 2022 as he positioned himself increasingly critical of the modern Republican Party.

On Sunday, in a post to X, formerly Twitter, Kinzinger issued a 2024 New Year prediction about what Trump will be like, adding that the former president's followers will "desperately look at him" for inspiration as they "mimic his victimness" in the coming year.

"Good morning. My 2024 prediction: Trump will be a massive complaining, belly-aching, whining, weak, soft, annoying, incredibly sheepish, victim this entire coming year. And his sheep will desperately look at him with googly eyes for inspiration as they mimic his victimness," Kinzinger wrote on X.

Newsweek has reached out to Trump via email for comment.

This is not the first time Kinzinger has taken to social media over the holidays to share his thoughts on Trump.

Last week, Kinzinger questioned the former president's religious beliefs after he released a Christmas message that sparked ridicule.

Trump, the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, took to his social media platform Truth Social to share Christmas messages to his supporters last week.

The posts, however, sparked mockery for focusing on political and legal affairs, including attacks against President Joe Biden and Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith, who has led the agency's investigations into his alleged election interference and alleged mishandling of classified documents.

Trump is facing four indictments, two of which are on charges related to election subversion. The former president, the frontrunner in the 2024 GOP primary, has denied all the allegations against him in each case.

Kinzinger took to X, to slam Trump's Christmas message stating that the former president is not a Christian and warning those who support him.

"I'm going to go out on a NOT limb here: this man is not a Christian. If you are a Christian who supports him, you don't understand your own religion, Kinzinger wrote. "Trump is weak, meager, smelly, victim-ey, belly-achey, but he ain't a Christian and he's not 'Gods man,''' Kinzinger wrote on X.

In addition, Kinzinger lampooned Trump's reported smell earlier this month when he tweeted about it on X. "I'm genuinely surprised how people close to Trump haven't talked about the odor," Kinzinger wrote on December 16. "It's truly something to behold. Wear a mask if you can."

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told Newsweek previously: "Adam Kinzinger farted on live TV and is an unemployed fraud." Cheung said the former congressman "disgraced his country," adding that Kinzinger "disrespects everyone around him because he is a sad individual who is mad about how his miserable life has turned out."
