Several Alabama law enforcement agencies recently helped an autistic man return to Indiana after he was robbed and abandoned by his "friends."
According to a Facebook post from the Morgan County Sheriff's Office in Alabama, the incident occurred on Saturday night.
Police said that 23-year-old Willinaus Bolin, from Indianapolis, "was on the way to Florida with some 'friends' when they physically pushed him out of the car and robbed him at a gas station in Montgomery...leaving him with nothing but the clothes on his body...no phone, no money."
Bolin's "friends" allegedly stole the money he earned from mowing yards, according to police.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said that officers with the Montgomery Police Department in Alabama were first to make contact with Bolin and attempted to contact his friends and family in Indianapolis for assistance.
Newsweek reached out to the Montgomery Police Department for further comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.

"They were told that his father was killed during 9/11, and his mother is diabetic and disabled only having one leg. He has no other family," the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said in the Facebook post.
According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, after learned that Bolin had no other family members to call, they transported him to a Waffle House in Vestavia Hills, and alerted the Vestavia Hills Police Department to the situation.
Officers with the Vestavia Hills Police Department attempted to buy Bolin a bus ticket back to Indiana but none were available.
"So began a chain reaction of kindness," the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said.
Bolin was transported by officers with the Vestavia Hills Police Department to the Fultondale Police Department, which then brought him to the Cullman County Sheriff's Office.
"Our Sgt. Ferguson linked up with the Cullman County at Loves, where Cullman County Deputy Dickerson purchased him something to eat and drink," the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said in the Facebook post.
After officers provided Bolin with food, Morgan County Sgt. Ferguson called Lt. Flanagan with the Limestone County Sheriff's Office, which "made arrangements to meet and help Mr. Bolin continue the journey home."
Morgan County Sgt. Ferguson met Lt. Flanagan at the Huntsville-Browns Ferry exit on Interstate 65 with Bolin, who then assisted him on his journey home.
"He wished him well on the rest of his trip and slipped him $20.....and then they were off to the next link of journey home," the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said in the Facebook post.
"We are happy to play a small part in helping get this young man back home and thankful for the multiple agencies that have and will assist on his journey!"
Police did not release further information on the people who allegedly robbed Bolin.
