Alexa Demie's 'Euphoria' Scene Got the Meme Treatment and It's Hilarious

A scene from the hit TV series Euphoria has turned into a variety of hilarious memes and is now a trending topic all over the internet. The specific scene comes from season 2 episode 1 of the HBO original series.

Starring Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi and many others, Euphoria follows high school students and their journey through heartbreak and relationships. The main character, Rue (Zendaya) narrates the show, while viewers see her struggle with addiction and mental health. The drama series first aired in the beginning of summer 2019 and returned early this year.

Demie — who plays the bold and confident Maddie — spoke about how much she loved playing her character in a recent interview with Raffy Ermac.

"It's a fun character for me to play. We do see a new side to her this season," she said. "I think you see her just reflecting and you see her a little more vulnerable, but she still has her Maddy moments. She's growing."

Despite rising popularity for the series, one scene-stealing character went viral.

In a recent episode, Maddy is seen pounding on the door of a bathroom, urging the person inside to hurry up. When she realized the person inside was her ex-boyfriend Nate Jacobs (Elordi), an irritated Maddy knocked even harder. Little did she know, he was in there with her best friend, Cassie Howard (Sweeney). A few more scenes of loud knocking later, it was finally her turn.

In just weeks after premiering, a screenshot from a specific part of the scene has turned into countless viral memes on Twitter. Many users have taken the photo and edited it onto multiple album covers, Apple products, shoes, cartoon characters, math equations and problems, historical moments, and even mysterious creatures.

Others shared their thoughts on the new meme.

@GeeVicy was in shock at all the creative memes. "The fact that maddy simply knocking on a door turned easily into diverse memes has me genuinely amazed and confused at yall creativity," they said.
