The NBA on Thursday evening released the names of its 14 reserves for the upcoming All-Star game, joining the 10 starters who had previously been named. It didn't take very long for basketball fans to sound off, but not for who made the team. It was mostly for one player who did not make the roster.
NBA fans quickly cried foul when they learned that Devin Booker was not on the team.
But first, here are the starters who were previously announced:
Eastern Conference Starters
* Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
Pascal Siakam, Toronto Raptors
Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers
Kemba Walker, Boston Celtics
Trae Turner, Atlanta Hawks
Western Conference Starters
* LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers
Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers
Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
James Harden, Houston Rockets
* Team Captains
Antetokounmpo and James will select their starting five from the announced starters, and their selections do not have to be from their own conference. For example, James could select Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks and Antetokounmpo could select James Harden from the Houston Rockets.
Here are the 14 All-Star reserves announced Thursday evening, per NBA.com:
- Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat
- Brandon Ingram, New Orleans Pelicans
- Chris Paul, Oklahoma City Thunder
- Rudy Gobert, Utah Jazz

- Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers
- Domantas Sabonis, Indiana Pacers
- Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

The only other players in NBA history to average 27 PPG and 6 APG on 50% shooting in a season are LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Steph Curry and Oscar Robertson. pic.twitter.com/HW0PjHa6EL
Phoenix Suns GM James Jones has released a statement: “I’ve played with and against multiple All-Stars in this league and Devin Booker is undoubtedly an NBA All Star.”

1st Team All NBA now ... #BookEM https://t.co/BiHWBC9lmb
Chicago last held the All-Star Game in 1988 at Chicago Stadium, which was one of the most notorious All-Star weekends in league history.
Larry Bird won the the 3-point shootout in dramatic fashion, hoisting the No.1 finger in the air as he launched the final red, white and blue basketball and walking away as the ball swooshed through the net for the long-range title.
Then, hometown favorite Michael Jordan won the Slam Dunk competition with his "fly from the free-throw line" dunk to beat Dominique Wilkins. Jordan went on to win the NBA All-Star Game's MVP that same year on his home court.
