The American Music Awards 2022 will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20.

The ceremony will celebrate the AMAs' 50th anniversary as well as the best in music, with the winners being voted for solely by the American public.

The host of the star-studded ceremony has yet to be revealed, after Cardi B took the job in 2021, but audiences can expect to be treated to incredible performances from some of the biggest names in music.

The nominees have finally been announced and fans can now cast their votes for the acts they want to see take home an award.

Newsweek has everything you need to know about the American Music Awards 2022.

Who Are the AMA 2022 Nominees and How Can You Vote?

Bad Bunny leads the way with eight AMA nominations, including the highly prized artist of the year. In that category, the Puerto Rican rapper and singer is up against Beyoncé, Adele, Drake, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.

Close behind Bad Bunny are Beyoncé, Drake and Taylor Swift, who each have six nominations.

Beyoncé and Swift will go head-to-head in three categories: artist of the year, favorite female pop artist and favorite pop album.

Adele, Styles and The Weeknd have five AMA nods each this year.

Swift holds the record for most AMAs won, with 34 awards. But she faces competition this year from 40 artists who have been nominated for the first time, including K-pop stars Blackpink and hitmaker Jack Harlow.

There are also new categories this year, including favorite K-pop artist, favorite Afrobeats artist, favorite rock song and favorite rock album.

Two-time AMA winner Becky G revealed the nominees for best new artist on Good Morning America on Thursday, October 13.

The five artists up for the award are Steve Lacy, Dove Cameron, GAYLE, Latto and Eurovision winners Måneskin.

There are two ways to vote for your favorite act in the AMAs. The first method is via Twitter. All you have to do is type the name of your favorite artist, song or album, followed by the category name and the AMAs hashtag.

So, you can type: "I'm voting for [ARTIST, SONG or ALBUM] for [CATEGORY] at the #AMAs."

You can also vote on the AMAs website at VoteAMAS.com.

Voting is open now.
