Animal Crossing: New Horizon's festive Toy Day celebration is almost upon us and will see the return of Jingle the reindeer, gift-giving activities, and limited-time decorations.
While Nintendo's social game rolled out its last major update in early November, that doesn't mean that it will be completely devoid of events and special occasions from now on. After all, there was already a Thanksgiving "Turkey Day" a couple of weeks ago, and chilly weather has recently started to cover everybody's islands in thick blankets of snow.
Speaking of which, seasonal content is returning to Animal Crossing: New Horizon's in 2021, with countdown items already available to purchase for those in the northern hemisphere (you'll get Summer solstice content instead if you reside south of the equator).
Of course, there is inevitably going to be another Toy Day as well. If you are not familiar with this event, it is an annual occurrence within the Animal Crossing calendar that tasks you with saving Christmas by helping out a jolly reindeer who is dressed as Santa Claus.
When Is Toy Day 2021 in 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons'?

There has only been one Toy Day so far in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (given how relatively new it is), but it is a tradition that dates all the way back to the very first game in the series.
It's basically a nondenominational substitute for Christmas that all players can enjoy. During the occasion, you are usually able to gift presents to fellow islanders, decorate your home with festive ornaments, and complete quests for Jingle the reindeer.
If you were worried that there might not be another Toy Day this year, given that New Horizons has launched its final big update, rest assured that it has not been cancelled. If you scan through the posts on the official Animal Crossing Twitter account, you will see that Toy Day has been explicitly confirmed for 2021, alongside a countdown event to ring in the new year.

Hi, everyone! Well, December is here, and that means we can look forward to celebrating Toy Day and our big Countdown event on New Year's Eve. I hope you can join us in making some new memories together! pic.twitter.com/YvrCyW2Qzm
In terms of when it will actually take place, Toy Day has historically fallen on Christmas Eve (not only in New Horizons, but in previous Animal Crossing games as well).
Last year Jingle the reindeer arrived at 6 a.m. local time on December 24, before leaving at 5 a.m. the next day, so this will probably be the case again in 2021.
Newsweek has contacted Nintendo of America and asked for an official start time and extra details (like if Jingle will be located in the same place as before, just outside of resident services) but has received no response as of yet.
