The family of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins released an animated video on Tuesday detailing how they believe actor Alec Baldwin shot and killed her on set.

The nearly 10-minute long video shows a CGI recreation of Baldwin sitting on a church pew in the New Mexico movie set before pulling the trigger of a Colt .45 revolver and aiming it toward Hutchins. It then shows a bullet flying towards her, and two people helping her up as she collapses on the ground.

Later, a narrator in the video breaks down the exact moment when Hutchins was shot and provides details about how the production team allegedly failed to implement safety standards on set.

The video provides animations of text messages and screenshots of emails from various crew members alleging that weapons safety was a "massive" problem throughout the filming process. It also alleges that Baldwin "refused" to receive proper training before shooting Hutchins and that he failed to meet industry standard requirements of inspecting the weapon before using it on set.

The video was released as part of a new wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Hutchins' family on Tuesday against Baldwin, the film's armorer, and other producers. The family is alleging that "reckless behavior" and "cost-cutting" ultimately led to Hutchins' death on October 21, 2021.

At the time of the incident, Baldwin was rehearsing a scene with a gun that an assistant director told him was a "cold gun," meaning that it was supposedly not loaded with live rounds. However, the weapon did contain real bullets, and when fired, fatally struck Hutchins in the chest and injured Director Joel Souza.

Tuesday's lawsuit names Baldwin, as well as seven producers and at least five crew members as defendants. The suit alleges that the production team engaged in cost-cutting measures by hiring inexperienced and unqualified armorers, having the armorer double as an assistant props master, having "unreasonably rushed" production schedules, and hiring safety crew members that were inexperienced and unqualified, among other things.

Lawyers representing Hutchins' family also alleged on Tuesday that Baldwin himself "disregarded at least 15 industry standards" while on set.

"I think it's clear what happened," Hutchins' family attorney Brian Panish told reporters. "Alec had the gun in his hand. He shot it. Halyna was killed."

"I think the video explains why Mr. Baldwin and others were responsible and are responsible for safety on the job site and why their reckless conduct and cost-cutting measures led to the death of Halyna Hutchins," Panish later added.

Baldwin, who was also a producer on the movie, said immediately after the shooting that "no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours."

Over a month later, Baldwin told ABC News's George Stephanopoulos that he "didn't pull the trigger," and "would never point a gun at someone and pull the trigger on them, never." The 63-year-old star announced earlier this month that he is going back to work to film a new movie after taking more than three months off following the deadly incident.

A police investigation into the shooting is still ongoing. Baldwin has not yet publicly commented on Tuesday's lawsuit.
