Buying a new house is an exciting time for all of the family, including pets. One dog who was used to living in an apartment went viral on TikTok by expressing his joy at having a backyard for the first time.
The footage shared by Taylor Downs shows the soft-coated Wheaten Terrier walking through the house toward the backdoor. He is encouraged by his owners to "go and run around" as he steps on to the grass. At first, the dog appears to be hesitant but it doesn't take him long to bolt from one side of the yard to the other.
The video captioned: "he's so happy," has delighted the internet and racked up 3.2 million views and 368,800 likes since Tuesday.

The American Kennel Club encourages people to consider their living space prior to getting a dog. If you live in an apartment it doesn't mean you will be forced to become a small dog owner because many large breeds like greyhounds have lower activity levels and are happy to lounge.
Small breeds like pugs, chihuahuas and bulldogs make great city dwellers and are highly adaptable. Irish farm dogs like the one in the video have high energy levels but they are happy to chill out, according to the AKC.
Newsweek previously shared similar moments for other dogs who can barely contain their excitement as they whiz around their backyard. It is almost if the pets can barely believe their luck.
So far, the popular clip has amassed over 1,200 comments. The video has been perfectly paired with the song "These Memories" by Hollow Coves and it has even reduced some people to tears.
"This is a dream. I'm working toward this for my baby," one TikTok user said.
"Our fur babies have been so patient with us trying to beat inflation and insane cost of living. They deserve the yard of their dreams," said another commenter.

"That's a core memory for sure," a viewer wrote in thecomments.
"I'M CRYING THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL," said another.
This isn't the first time a dog video has left the internet in tears. The moment a blind dog enjoyed his first time on the beach had a similar effect on TikTok viewers along with the heartbreaking moment a cat was recorded sitting like he was depressed.
