Archive 81 is Netflix's latest horror series which is leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
The show follows its characters over multiple timelines, focusing on archivist Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie) who works to restore footage from videotapes in 1994 made by journalist Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi).
As the mysteries behind Melody's investigation into a cult organization unfolds, Dan starts to have an unexplained connection with her that could possibly help him save her from her fate 25 years earlier.
Here is everything you need to know about the filming locations featured in the horror series.
Where Was 'Archive 81' Filmed?
Archive 81 is based in New York City in both the current day, with Dan, and in 1994, when Melody is investigating the mysterious cult.
However, the show itself was not filmed in the Big Apple and was actually shot in various locations in Pennsylvania, as well as on sound stages.
The show was filmed mainly in and around the city of Pittsburgh in Allegheny County, and a number of sites there are stand-ins for locations in New York.
Melody's videotapes were partially destroyed in a mysterious fire that was set at the Visser Apartment Building, whose residents she was investigating.
The apartment building itself is not real, but the exterior shots are of the First Avenue Lofts building located at 436 First Avenue, while the interiors are from sets built just for the show.
A number of spots in Millvale were also used in the show, including the Mr. Smalls Theatre which is where an experimental opera is seen being performed, and the Blaqk House Collections at 440 First Avenue which was used as an art gallery.
Meanwhile, Father Russo's church is also based in Pittsburgh in the East Liberty Presbyterian Church, though the exterior shot is of St. Paul's Cathedral in the city.
Other locations used in the series include Point Park University, East Ohio Street, and The Government Center.
Bernie's Photo Center in Pittsburgh was also used to represent a video camera store that features in the horror show.
According to Atlas of Wonders, scenes of the Vos society mansion were shot at the Willis McCook Estate House, which is a historic house based on 5105 Fifth Avenue in the city's Shadyside district.
Dawn Keezer, director of the Pittsburgh Film Office, spoke to local publication Trib Live about Archive 81 filming in the city, saying: "We hope that Netflix continues the series and continues to film here in Pittsburgh. We love showcasing our city."
Archive 81 is available to stream now on Netflix.
