'Bachelor' Recap: Who Went Home and What It Means For Hometown Dates

Peter Weber's season of The Bachelor is about to get a lot more serious. The leading man narrowed down the poll of women to four on Monday night's episode, which means a few things.

First, Weber selected these women knowing that the next step is to meet their families. Hometown dates seemingly add a level of tangible, real-life experience to The Bachelor, which often sweeps contestants on international adventures and extravagant dates. With hometown dates, Weber sees what it is like for the women in their daily routines and with their families.

On Monday night, Weber sent Natasha Parker and Kelley Flanagan home, two women beloved by Bachelor Nation because of the way they have avoided the season's drama. Twitter commenters were upset by both dismissals and had some choice words about Weber.

I haven’t watched the new episode of the bachelor, but since y’all love to spoil things.... apparently Kelley went home, and I just wanna say, good. Peter likes crazy ass little girls and Kelley was not that. I hope Ms.cries over a bottle of champagne is good to him

Women: we need to realize our worth!

Kelley: I mean look at me, I’m an attorney.

Women: ew so arrogant that doesn’t mean you’ll get a rose!! #bachelor

I know you were all wondering and yes I did watch The Bachelor before the show this morning. What a terrible idea that was, my mood is now ruined. Peter is an absolute clown and didn’t deserve Kelley anyway. I hope Coach Prewitt rips him a new one when he visits Auburn next week

Why Peter/Bachelor gotta do Natasha so dirty like that? They literally never gave her a one on one and yet kept her along just for Peter to be like I don’t think we’re there yet in comparison to the other girls.... well DUH how could you be without bending he concept of time

Natasha was just for show that's all, the bachelor is one of the most racist show around. You are wonderful Natasha, definitely first choice

I loved Peter on Hannah’s season, but this season has been rough. They just didn’t have enough mature, strong women (why were the women so young??) I’m rooting for Natasha/Kelley for Bachelorette. They didn’t have their identity wrapped up in Peter. #Bachelor #BachelorNation

Throughout the season, some fans have slammed Weber for sending the wrong people home. Last week, Flanagan won over viewers when she questioned why Weber consistently "rewards drama" in the house by keeping the women who cause it.

After being told she was going home on Monday's episode, Flanagan made a comment that reflected the views of many fans of The Bachelor. "I'm on a different emotional level, and I'm the only one mature enough to be actually ready for a relationship," she said of herself when compared to the other women.

She also told Weber that his relationships don't need to be so difficult, seemingly in reference to the immense amount of drama that some of the women have spun this season.

At the time of her sendoff, Flanagan was on a 3-on-1 date with Victoria Fuller and Hannah Ann Sluss. During the date, Fuller and Weber had an emotional conversation in which she claimed he's always "in a mood" when she sees him, and finds it difficult to move forward in their relationship when he's emotionally absent.

Later in the show, Weber sent Parker home during a one-on-one date. Some viewers claimed he didn't seem remotely interested in her, even in a solo setting. Some commentators on Twitter asked for Parker to be on Bachelor in Paradise, or even appear as the next Bachelorette.

Another conversation on the episode showed Madison Prewett and Weber speaking about faith. Prewett expressed the importance of religion in her life, while Weber admitted he isn't too involved spiritually, but would like to be.

Prewett is currently the leading fan favorite to be the final woman for this season. While many viewers seemingly want her to win the series, others claim, like Parker and Flanagan, she's too good for Weber and should be considered for The Bachelorette.

Here to say that the ONLY reason I am still watching this absolute joke of a season is to see our shining star and queen, Madison Rose Prewett, make it to the finale and realise she is way too good for Peter and dump him. That’s all #TheBachelor pic.twitter.com/R9qBX9ZzHa

What happens when you drink plenty of water and mind your business. Madison (and Kelley) are the unproblematic queens we deserve. #TheBachlor #MadisonPrewett pic.twitter.com/cK633wELWs
