'The Bachelor' Viewers Are All Saying the Same Thing About Shanae

The Bachelor Season 26 has been dominated by Shanae Ankney, a perfect reality TV villain who has been very honest about the ways she has lied and been emotionally manipulative on the show.

Usually, there are two types of Bachelor viewers—those who live for all the drama, and those who "believe in the process" and really want Clayton Echard to find love. Unusually, however, both of these groups seem to have come to the same conclusion about Shanae.

After Clayton eliminated her from the ABC show, Shanae took to her Instagram to call out people who "were so quick to say you would never be 'so mean to someone' while simultaneously sending me hateful messages so ugly I wouldn't repost."

However, not all social media posts about her were that vicious—in fact, much of Bachelor nation said exactly the same things about Shanae.

How did Shanae leave The Bachelor?

This week's The Bachelor (Season 26, Episode 6) began with Shanae and Genevieve Parisi on a two-on-one date with Clayton at Niagara Falls.

Shanae used her time with Clayton to bad-mouth Genevieve, lying and telling Clayton that she had heard Genevieve say she was ready to leave the show.

She also accused her of being an actress—a bold accusation from someone who admitted that she faked the tears she cried in front of Clayton. After Genevieve denied this, Clayton believed her and sent Shanae home.

News of this soon reached the rest of the women, who celebrated by breaking out into a spontaneous party—giving Bachelor Nation the GIF-able sight of Gabby Windey drinking out of two champagne bottles at once.

How Bachelor Nation reacted to Shane leaving

Though there was cheer among the contestants, Bachelor Nation had much less time to celebrate.

This was because, as soon as Clayton had eliminated her, fans of the ABC show had one mission: to let producers know that they did not want them putting the show villain onto spin-off show Bachelor in Paradise.

Bachelor producers, after all, have a habit of trying to rehabilitate villains through the Love Island-like spin-off show—see Thomas from Katie's season's recent run on the show.

As such, Bachelor viewers took to Twitter to start their campaign to keep Shanae off of Bachelor in Paradise.

One Twitter user summed up many of the tweets when he posted an image of Kris Jenner holding a gun, alongside the caption: "Me if the producers try to bring Shanae to paradise."

The same account also tweeted: "Retweet if you'll boycott Paradise if Shanae is on."

Another contestant posted a list of "demands" for producers of Bachelor in Paradise. Leading that list was "no Shanae villain redemption story in paradise."

A number of other viewers, meanwhile, posted a meme of a man holding up a cardboard sign in the street, with the text doctored to read "don't send Shanae to paradise."

A sample of other tweets pleading with producers not to put Shanae onto Bachelor in Paradise:

"And with the most eloquent farewell she could construct, Shanae was sent adrift into the mist, engulfed in the falls, and never re-emerged not even for paradise (a prayer for Bachelor Nation)"

"On god if they try to make shanae happen in paradise, i'm calling the cops ."

"I think I speak on behalf of all of Bachelor Nation when I say we do not need to see Shanae in Paradise."

The Bachelor Season 26 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
