The Batman has swooped into theaters, giving fans their first glimpse at the new iteration of the Caped Crusader.

Matt Reeves' neo-noir superhero film follows Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne as he tries to find a serial killer known as the Riddler (Paul Dano), and solve his puzzles before any more people die.

But once the credits roll on the main story is that all there is? Newsweek is here to tell you all you need to know about whether the film has a post-credit scene.

Does 'The Batman' Have A Post-Credit Scene?

The Batman ends on a dramatic note, with Gotham City all but completely flooded after the Riddler's plan to submerge the metropolis went ahead.

In the wake of the destruction criminals run rampant in the streets of Gotham, and it is up to Pattinson's Wayne to deal with them.

After an emotional farewell with Selina Kyle (Zoë Kravitz), Wayne heads back into the city to do what must be done as the Batman sigil shines in the sky.

For those hoping for there to be a post-credit scene to tease what's to come in a future sequel the answer is yes, there is one, just not one you'd expect.

Rather than have a normal post-credit scene, or indeed a mid-credit scene like in Marvel's superhero films, the DC flick has a very brief clip at the very end of the credits.

The scene shows the Riddler's question mark symbol before flashing in and out of focus and showing the url for the villain's website https://www.rataalada.com/.

If fans of the film are keen to look up the website and see if it is real they will be happy to know that it does exist.

Viewers who go on the Riddler's website will be able to embark on a mind-game similar to the one featured in the film, with the villain asking riddles.

Each player will need to answer 3 riddles correctly in order to win a "reward", which is a secret image that is relevant to the film.

While fans of the film will only need to answer 3 riddles to win the prize there are more than 3 riddles in total, and the game will switch around which riddle it gives you every time you decide to re-attempt it.

Also, if you look up the answers for the riddles the game will know, and it will comment on how you are "searching for the answers" and remark on how "cheaters will always reveal themselves."

The Batman is out in theatres now.
