Big Brother 2022's first eviction night was full of surprises as a Houseguest was confirmed to have quit the show.
Viewers tuned into Big Brother expecting host Julie Chen Moonves to announce either Taylor Hale or Terrance Higgins as the first contestant evicted from Season 24 of the long-running CBS show but instead, the Houseguests who were at risk of leaving the series were given a free pass for the week.
Chen Moonves, 52, confirmed on the Thursday, July 14 episode that Paloma Aguilar had left the show and that because of this, there would be no eviction.
Here's who left on Big Brother 2022's eviction night and what's happening with the battle for Head of House (HoH).

Who Got Voted Off Big Brother 2022?
On the July 14 episode of Big Brother, host Julie Chen Moonves began by stating that viewers could be in for an unusual first eviction episode, emphasizing the show's "expect the unexpected" motto. She also confirmed one Houseguest was gone and that it would bring a shock change to the night's proceedings.
Viewers then saw footage of Paloma struggling with her anxiety and sleep inside the house and Houseguests were seen discussing their concerns for her.
Daniel was then shown returning from the Diary Room with a message from Big Brother. He read it to his fellow contestants, confirming that Paloma has left the show "due to a personal matter." The shock news meant that there would be no eviction, it was announced.

Next, it was time for Chen Moonves to announce the result of the public vote for the Backstage Pass holders.
Earlier in the season Paloma, Alyssa Snider and Brittany Hoopes were chosen by Joe "Pooch" Pucciarelli as the holders of Backstage Passes. The public were then asked to vote to save one of the three—although it was never revealed what they were actually saving them from. It was then revealed that Brittany received the most votes from viewers.
The mysterious Backstage Pass twist was then finally revealed as it was explained that the Backstage Pass holders who didn't win the public vote, so Alyssa and Paloma, would have had to face off with the Houseguests up for eviction, so Taylor and Terrance.
With Paloma going home, however, they no longer needed this battle but hopefully next week we will see the new twist comes into play.
