The Swedish movie Black Crab is currently dominating the international Netflix charts, giving international cinema a boost in the United States.

What Is 'Black Crab' About?
The Swedish movie Black Crab follows a soldier attempting to end an apocalyptic war and save her daughter. Caroline Edh reluctantly embarks on a desperate mission to cross a frozen sea carrying top-secret cargo.
We follow Edh's story from her beginnings as a mother, then flash-forward to a time when she's now a soldier in the unforgiving war. As she journeys across an icy wasteland, she encounters friends and foes along the way.
It's filled with action set pieces and emotional moments as Edh attempts the seemingly impossible task of ending the war and reuniting her family.

Who Stars in 'Black Crab'?
Swedish actress Noomi Rapace plays the lead role of Carolina Edh. She's best known for her roles in the original Swedish movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, as well as Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Netflix movie Bright.
Appearing alongside her are a host of Scandinavian talent including Aliette Opheim, Dar Salim and Jakob Oftebro.
Adam Berg wrote and directed Black Crab which marks his feature film debut. He'd previously directed a number of music videos for artists like A-Ha, Groove Armada, Kent, Reef and The Cardigans.
The movie clocks in at 114 minutes long and is a Swedish movie, with English subtitles available. After the movie's release, Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes look at Black Crab on its official YouTube account.
'Black Crab' Reviews
Despite topping Netflix viewing charts across the globe, Black Crab has received mixed reviews. The movie climbed to the number 2 spot in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Website IGN gave Black Crab a 6/10 ranking while RogerEbert.com awarded it three out of five stars.
The Rotten Tomatoes ranking meter has slightly tipped against Black Crab with a 46 percent rating on the "Tomatometer." It was not all negative for the movie though as Noel Murray of the Los Angeles Times called Black Crab "well-crafted, exciting and mostly harmless," but Josh Goller of Spectrum Culture bluntly called the movie: "All shell, no meat."
