Black-ish viewers finally said goodbye to the Johnson family as the eighth and final season finished on ABC on Tuesday night.
To mark the occasion, each of the cast members shared touching tributes to the show and their colleagues on their own social media account. In its eight years on television, Black-ish has become a worldwide hit, spawning multiple spin-offs and launching the careers of some of the actors.
The likes of Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross and more have all shared their own feelings on the end of the show, with each explaining what Black-ish has meant to them. Here's a rundown of each of the actors' reaction to the end of Black-ish.

Anthony Anderson — Dre Johnson Sr.
The patriarch of the Johnson family, Anthony Anderson called the end of Black-ish the "end of an era" for not just him but also for his "co-stars, the Team at ABC, staff & crew and all of the guest stars that we have had on this show as well!"
He said he's feeling a range of emotions from joy to pride to sadness, but he's glad Black-ish has done so much for African American family and culture.
Tracee Ellis Ross — Bow Johnson
Ellis Ross celebrated the end of Black-ish by sharing some previously unseen videos of the fun that the cast had behind the scenes.
In her tribute, she revealed how much fun they had at work. "hey say the family that plays together, stays together. And even though these incredible humans were just my tv family, I think that means we're forever," she wrote.
Yara Shahidi — Zoey Johnson
Black-ish served as a launch pad for Shahidi who is now fronting her own spinoff Grown-ish. Returning to star in the season finale, Shahidi also shared a collection of images from the show.
She announced to her followers that she was "grateful to grow up together" with the Johnson family.
She thanked her onscreen dad and executive producer Anderson as well as the creator Kenya Barris. "🤎THANK YOU to Mr. Never the Same 'fit twice, [Kenya Barris] and my paDRE [Anthony Anderson] for creating spaces to thrive and carry on with [Grown-ish]! What a beautiful 8 years ✨" Shahidi wrote on her Instagram account.
Marcus Scribner — 'Junior' Johnson
Scribner said in his Instagram tribute to the show that he was "feeling very thankful for this family we built."
He called the finale a "a celebration of all of the laughs, tears, and stories we've shared for the past eight seasons" before going on to thank the fans for their continued support too. Scribner included a number of throwback images of the actors on Black-ish showing how much they'd grown in that time.
Jenifer Lewis — Ruby Johnson
Lewis kept her words brief in her tribute to the show, but the actress, singer and comedian wrote a song for Black-ish which she posted to Instagram. While she shared her feelings on the finale, she also used it as an opportunity to plug her upcoming projects.
The lyrics included: "I'm holdin' back the tears, y'all know that's right. Everybody's asking 'Jennifer, what are you gonna do?' Well, a new series on Showtime called I Love That For You."
Deon Cole — Charlie Telphy
Comedian Cole has been on Black-ish since the start but joined as a main cast member in Season 4. He had a long list of thank yous in his tribute to the show, starting with the creator Barris. He went on to praise his castmates, the crew, ABC, Disney and anyone else he could think of.
