Bob Saget's family said they were "overwhelmed by the incredible outpouring of love" as the actor's cause of death was confirmed to be head trauma.
The Full House star's death sent shockwaves through Hollywood last month when he was found on January 9 in a Florida hotel room. He was 65 years old.
Now his family has confirmed that the cause of death was an accidental blow to the head.
"The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma," the family said in a statement reported by CNN. "They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep."
Authorities said there was no sign of foul play when Saget was found dead in the Ritz Carlton in Orlando.
The actor was married to TV host Kelly Rizzo and had three adult children from his previous marriage to Sherri Kramer—Aubrey, 34, Lara, 32, and Jennifer, 29.
In the statement, the family added that they have been "overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob's fans, which has been a great comfort to us and for which we are eternally grateful."

"As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter," his family said.
"Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness' sake," Jim Carrey tweeted at the time.
Full House co-star John Stamos said he was "broken" and "gutted" at the loss of his friend.
"I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby," he tweeted.
"Bob was the most loving, compassionate and generous man. We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has," they said.
"We are thinking of his daughters, wife and family and are sending our condolences."
