It's the beginning of the end for BoJack Horseman.

Fans will get their last few fixings of the Netflix original animated series when the first eight episodes of Season 6 release on the streaming platform Friday. Episodes of the show will become available for subscribers as soon as 12 a.m. EST.

The second half of the final season is set to release on Netflix Jan. 31.

Following a particularly dark Season 5, the trailer for the upcoming episodes hints at slightly positive changes the famous horse actor is trying to make in his life. For starters, BoJack, voiced by Will Arnett, will still be in rehab addressing his addiction problems when the show returns. In the Season 6 trailer, he writes a letter from treatment to his one-time love interest and ex-best friend Diane (Brie Larson), claiming "rehab's going fine" except for the days where everything "sucks."

It seems as though the pill-popping animal is at least reckoning with his narcissism and realizing how much of the toxicity in his life was caused by his own self-absorbed antics. "I'll cut right to the chase. Every time someone leaves rehab, they say think about your own progress," he wrote.

"I bought into this idea that I was the thing that couldn't be changed. The main thing I think about is how stupid I am I didn't do this sooner. I wasted so many years being miserable because I assumed that was the only way to be," he continued. "I don't want to do that anymore."

The hit series, which received widespread acclaim for its satirical acknowledgment of depression, addiction, mental health, dependency and the vanity of Hollywood—or Hollywoo as it is called in the BoJack universe—still shines a light on those same core themes in Season 6, while hinting at possible redemption for BoJack. Who knows if he'll actually manage to stay sober and avoid returning to his old habits when he's back from rehab, but fans are rooting for him.

As for his counterparts, they'll be sorting out their own demons in Season 6 too. Diane will continue to search for self-worth in the midst of publishing take-downs of Hollywoo's finest on Girl Croosh. She may be getting a helping hand in the confidence department from a new love interest.

Meanwhile, Princess Carolyn (Amy Sedaris), BoJack's feline agent and former paramour, will be adjusting to life as a new mother to her adopted porcupine, Ruthie. She'll get some help from Todd (Aaron Paul), who may finally start growing up after discovering the joys of caring for someone smaller and more helpless than himself.

Over at Mr. Peanutbutter's (Paul F. Tompkins) house, he'll be going through the motions in his second marriage to Pickles (Hong Chau), although it's unclear if he'll finally confess his sexual slip up with ex-wife Diane in Season 6.
