From the dream cake to the perfect dress, many brides have a strong idea of what their ideal wedding should look like. Unfortunately, having such high expectations can lead to disappointment, especially when there's a lot of money involved.
One bride's wedding cake has gone viral for all the wrong reasons, with TikTok users telling the woman to demand a refund.
In a video shared on Saturday, TikToker manonhollywood0 showed an image of the design she'd ordered from a professional cake decorator for her big day.
Her request was a four-tier white cake covered in realistic-looking flower petals in shades of pale pink, white and green she had found on Pinterest.
She then revealed what she had actually received—a poorly constructed three-tier design with pink and purple flowers drawn on with frosting.
The post has been liked over 4,000 times and received 400 comments from users both giggling and commiserating with Manon.
"Your wish has been delivered," joked Melissa Mallaya Pan.
"Is that the children's version?" asked User1767816818524.
"omg ... I would be livid," said Ruthie Harvey.
While Marko wanted to know "is it wrong that I laughed out loud?"
According to Wedding Wire, the average cost of a wedding cake in the U.S. is $500. The cost will depend on a variety of factors, such as design elements, the number of tiers, and personalized touches such as unique shapes, flavors and frostings.
You're also paying for the baker's time and skill, with some cakes taking months to design and create.
People purporting to be professional cake decorators shared their disgust at the design fail.
SkipPep said: "as a cake decorator...I have 2nd/3rd/4th and 5th hand embarrassment for the person who made that."
User554878161559 agreed, writing: "I wish the baker had just told you that it's outside their capabilities. That first cake is a really specific skill, no shame in just saying."
While user9682708036207 commented: "WOW coming from a cake maker that is shocking! if i know i cant do the design i dont take the order."
Other users pointed out that the cake was not only the wrong design, but was also in poor condition.
Claire Magowan Brown said: "Apart from the design being off, it is bulging and there's dents all over it. Was it delivered like that?" Which Manon confirmed it was.
When asked how much she paid for the cake, Manon said "you don't want to know" and "it wasn't cheap," with TikTokers begging her to get a refund.
Ep6124 said: "If you don't confirm that you got a refund, I'll never be able to sleep at night."
Legendarial wrote: "hope u did reclaim at least half of the price back."

Malon isn't the only bride to go viral thanks to a wedding cake calamity. TikToker @agwright1231 shared her own floral fail—that didn't even have flowers.
