Britney Spears has condemned paparazzi for hounding her while she is on vacation in Hawaii.

The pop star, newly free of her conservatorship, is currently enjoying a holiday in Maui with her fiance Sam Asghari. However, she says photographers are being "sneaky" and attempting to get photos of her.

The 40-year-old has also said that she has been unwell and has lost weight due to a suspected bug but that paps are still camping out to try and get unflattering photos of her.

"I wake up and my body is so little yet the war dog media hiding outside my room put me on defense just like they always have ... so if you're outside my room trying to get another cheap shot of me ... please go f*** yourself and leave me alone !!!!" she wrote in an Instagram caption on Monday night.

"I should be able to run around naked if I choose to ..." she added. "Have a good day folks !!! I will say I am grateful for the food in Maui and this cool hotel ... I just wish the sneaky paps would f*** off."

The "Toxic" singer went on to say that Maui is "absolutely pure magic" despite the "horrible" shutterbugs.

In an earlier post, the singer reflected on her relationship with the paparazzi and the media over the years to her more than 39 million followers.

Spears was hounded by photographers during her 2007 breakdown, which led to her being placed in a 13-year conservatorship.

"Paps still show pics of me on the balcony with fat rolls !!!!" she said in an earlier post on Monday, adding: "The media has always been hateful to me !!! I know my body is not perfect by any means but I also know I definitely don't look like that !!!! Guess I should stay at the gym for 3 hours like Sam does lol ... NEVER."

Spears' vacation comes after a week of very public spats with her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

Britney Spears has accused her sister of lying in recent interviews where she promoted her new memoir, Things I Should Have Said.

In the book, the elder Spears sister is mentioned 315 times despite the Zoey 101 star claiming that it isn't about the singer.

The public war of words eventually led to Britney Spears issuing her sister with a cease and desist letter, threatening legal action if she continues to talk about her in interviews.
