A small business owner went viral on TikTok after sharing that a customer allegedly requested a handmade "anti-vax" sign.

The video, posted by @thesleepyowlhome on TikTok, showed an email thread between her and a customer requesting a "round door sign" that said, "welcome unvacinated and unafraid." It received more than 290,000 views and 1,700 comments since it was posted on October 27.

The email, sent from a woman named Samantha, also said that the sign was for her front door and that she needed it by Thanksgiving.

In response, the business owner said that she could not "in good conscience" make a sign "promoting anti-vaccination."

"Um I didn't ask for your opinion," the customer replied. "I just want you to do your job like im paying you for. Or you just cant do customs like you said and are just lieing to your customers or what ?? Seriously I just want the sign and im the one paying you and im a lion not a sheep !!

After the aggressive email, the business owner decided to go ahead and make the sign, but in her own artistic way. She grabbed a tablet and began drawing out curly letters on a custom circular sign.

But, the business owner then added "*and uneducated" to the bottom of the sign and a "c" to correctly spell "unvaccinated." She then sent the design "welcome we are unvaccinated and unafraid * and uneducated," via email to the customer.

In the United States, where vaccinations have become mandatory for some individuals, approximately 19 percent of adults do not intend on getting the COVID vaccine, NPR reported.

This was a slight decrease from 24 percent in July, but experts believe that has to do with the FDA approval.

Many universities, as well as employers, are also requiring individuals to be vaccinated in order to return. This has led to many protests fighting against vaccine mandates.

On Monday, first responders gathered in Los Angeles to protest the mandates. Many said they didn't believe anyone should lose their job over refusal to get vaccinated.

In the comments, many said both women were immature and that the business owner should have just refused the request.

Another user in the comments compared the situation to business owners refusing service to gay couples.

"Remember when republicans advocated for business owners to refuse customers because of gay wedding cakes," the user wrote. "And now they are acting like this."

Other users, though, said they also refused service to customers requesting similar items.

"I've had several requests for a car sticker similar to this and have refused as well," a user commented. "I won't continue their hypocrisy nor profit off of ignorance."

Many users praised the small business owner for her response to the customer's request.

"This is the clap back I was hoping to see but even better," one user wrote.
