A Los Angeles middle school was forced to temporarily increase supervision on campus this week after a brawl broke out between two parents.

The violent outburst took place at Robert Frost Middle School in Granada Hills on Monday. Cellphone footage of the incident later circulated on social media was obtained by local media outlet Fox LA. The identities of the two adult men are not yet known.

Los Angeles police officers were reportedly dispatched to the scene in response to the fight, but it remains unclear if any arrests were made.

The 38-second video clip, which has been circulating online, starts as the men begin to exchange blows in front of dozens of screaming students.

The two adults are seen in the footage colliding into a food stand before one of the men climbs on top of the other and lands multiple punches from above.

As more students gather around the tussle, the men fall to the ground. After one person urges them to "chill out" they are broken apart by at least two individuals, who appear to be students. As the cellphone recording comes to an end, a whistle can be heard being blown in the yard.

The footage was shared to Facebook by a man named Steve Rivera, who said on the website that his children attend the middle school. He said the altercation was sparked after one of the men confronted the other over a recent allegation of bullying involving his daughter.

According to Fox LA, witnesses said the men had been yelling at each other before the brawl. School administrators did not comment on the cause, but confirmed the fight took place and said additional supervision had been provided Tuesday "out of an abundance of caution."

"The safety of our students and staff remains my top priority," principal Elmer Choe told Fox LA. "Today after dismissal two male adults were engaged in a physical altercation.

"Administration separated the two males and our staff assisted in dispersing any Frost Middle School students who may have been in that vicinity," Choe continued. "L.A. Unified [school district] takes situations like this very seriously, and we followed protocols to address it."

Choe and the LAPD media team did not immediately respond to request for comment. It remains unclear if the two parents will face any additional disciplinary measures.

A Robert Frost Middle School handbook titled 'Safe school Plan 2019-2020' says administrators are responsible for ensuring that safe workplace policy BUL-5798 is implemented.

Referencing consequences for fighting, that policy says: "Any individual who commits acts of violence or threatening or disruptive behavior in the workplace may be subject to removal from the premises, subject to disciplinary action and/or subject to criminal penalties.

"Non-staff members who engage in violent, threatening or disruptive behaviors may forfeit permission to remain on-site. This action may be taken when there is reasonable cause to believe that such person has willfully disrupted the orderly operation of such campus or facility."
