Oprah Winfrey's daytime talk show gave Dr. Mehmet Oz his TV start. Now that Oz is running as a Republican in the Pennsylvania Senate race, many partisans are begging Winfrey to endorse his opponent.

Oz faced off with Democrat John Fetterman during a debate on Tuesday, with the surgeon's camp claiming victory.

Many social media users have petitioned Winfrey to come out against Oz, who's been backed by former President Donald Trump.

"I am not saying Oprah is responsible for Dr. Oz but I am saying she could endorse Fetterman," Twitter user @PrincessBravato wrote on Wednesday.

"Dear @Oprah," tweeted @51PercentofUS on Tuesday night. "SAY. SOMETHING!!!!!!! I trusted this man because of you. He made his millions because of you. SAY. SOMETHING."

"I said it before, and I will say it again. Now would be a good time for Oprah to denounce Dr. Oz," user @ripster72 wrote.

Some have even painted Oz as the monster to Winfrey's Frankenstein.

"Just wondering, has Oprah come out against the monster she created, Dr. Oz? She should be campaigning for Fetterman," former Star Tribune columnist Jon Tevlin tweeted earlier this month.

Winfrey has endorsed another Democrat––this time in Georgia's gubernatorial race: Stacey Abrams. In the days leading up to the race, Winfrey urged people to cast their vote for Abrams.

Earlier this month, author Cliff Schecter tweeted that it made him "feel good" to learn that Winfrey supported Abrams.

"It also makes me feel like Oprah should announce her support for John Fetterman today as she--even if she didn't mean it--created the Mehmet monster running against him," he added. "Howard Stern endorsed Hillary & Biden over the monster he helped create."

What Has Oprah Said About Dr. Oz's Candidacy?

Despite having helped Oz ascend to celebrity status, Winfrey has stayed pretty mum about his candidacy so far.

A month after Oz announced his candidacy, Winfrey's spokesperson provided a statement from the daytime queen to New York Magazine: "One of the great things about our democracy is that every citizen can decide to run for public office. Mehmet Oz has made that decision. And now it's up to the residents of Pennsylvania to decide who will represent them."

She did not elaborate further.

The mega-celeb may be hush-hush about the Pennsylvania Senate race, but another TV show host has aired a fake Winfrey apology video.

Jimmy Kimmel's faux commercial aired in June, featuring a montage of Winfrey clips and a voiceover actress.

"Hi everybody. Nineteen years ago, I introduced the world to Dr. Oz," the Winfrey impersonator said. "He made more than 60 appearances on my show. I made him a household name. I f**ked up."

The commercial later showed Oz at a Trump rally demanding Dr. Anthony Fauci's ouster.

"Oprah's sorry, everybody. I owe you each a candle and fuzzy pair of slippers. I'm really sorry," the fake Winfrey concluded.

Newsweek has reached out to representatives for Winfrey for comment.
