Camille Vasquez Celebrated By Johnny Depp Fans After Verdict

Following the jury's verdict on the defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, Depp's fans are praising his lawyers, especially Camille Vasquez.

On June 1, the jury announced the final verdict of the ongoing case between Depp and Heard where Depp sued Heard for $50 million due to an op-ed she wrote in 2018 published in The Washington Post. The jury ruled in Depp's favor, awarding the Pirates of the Caribbean actor $15 million in damages and awarding Heard $2 million in compensatory damages over comments from Depp's former attorney Adam Waldman, who called Heard's abuse claims "a hoax."

As fans heard the news of Depp's win, they took to social media to praise Depp's lawyers, including Vasquez.

"Johnny Depp's legal team - Ben Chew, Camille Vasquez, Wayne Dennison, Stephanie Calnan, Rebecca MacDowell Lecaroz, Yarelyn Mena, Jessica Meyers and Samuel Moniz - thank you for standing beside Johnny and helping him get the truth out. Inside the courtroom, Depp's team celebrated their win. In a statement, Vasquez spoke outside the courthouse, alongside Ben Chew.

"Today's verdict confirms what we have said from the beginning: That the claims against Johnny Depp are defamatory and unsupported by any evidence. We are grateful—so grateful—to the jury for their careful deliberation, to the judge and the court staff who have devoted an enormous amount of time and resources towards this case," Vasquez said.

Depp took to social media to share a statement on his win discussing the "hateful content" he received and the impact it had on his career, why he pursued this case as well as appreciating the support during the trial.

"I hope that my quest to have the truth be told will have helped others, men or women, who have found themselves in my situation, and that those supporting them never get up. I also hope that the position will not return to innocent until proven guilty within the court and in the media," he wrote.
