Cat Clinging to Faucet After Having First Bath Sends Internet Wild

An adorable video of a kitten clinging to a faucet after having his first bath has gone viral online, having been watched by a staggering 10 million people.

In the clip, shared to TikTok by an account called Jewelshaye, we can see the small ginger cat, whose name is Mochi, hugging the faucet in the sink with his eyes closed.

A woman's voice can then be heard reassuring the pet that he is "all done." She continues: "He's so scared. Baby you're done already, you just need to dry off."

Jewelshaye has captioned the adorable video, which can be watched here, writing: "He loves baths now btw #DisneyPlusVoices #fyp #elfitup #funny."

While cats don't typically need bathing, Purina explains "there are some exceptional circumstances."

These circumstances include: "If they're rolled in something that they can't wash off themselves, or they have long hair which has become matted... Most cats really dislike baths and they can find the experience very stressful."

Although we do not yet known the reason for the bath, Newsweek has contacted Jewelshaye for comment.

The sweet footage has gained lots of traction online since it was shared on January 27, having been liked by 1.9 million people and attracted more than 71,600 shares.

Many social media users also rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts on the clip.

One TikTok user, known online as Smegma_sandwich, wrote: "Damn bro gripping on for dear life."

Another person, TootTootBleetBleet, added: "Emotional damage."

Ashanti Sinclair joked: "Why do we cling to the things that hurt us."

Lots of people were also concerned that the towel was not close to hand after the bath, with Samantha typing: "Why did you not have a towel already ready oh my goodness poor baby."

Brenda Yerton agreed, stating: "Definitely should have had a towel sitting right next to the sink. He's probably freezing cold and definitely scared."

Yhlqsmplg gushed: "Poor cat waiting for you to get the damn towel on him and there you are recording smh [shaking my head]."

Madi K observed: "I'm sure she just forgot the towel lol she obviously loves the cat and she just wanted to catch this moment on camera."

To this, Jewelshaye responded: "Yes thank you lmao [laughing my a** off], they act like I let him hang there for the five months it's been since I took this [laughing-face emoji]."
