From an elderly dog getting to enjoy a McDonald's meal to a foster puppy's insuperable bond with the household dog, we've seen plenty of heartwarming pet stories this week.
As well as heart-melting viral videos, we've been delighted with submissions from readers for our weekly Newsweek Pet of the Week.
If you think your pet should be next week's Pet of the Week, follow the instructions at the end of this story to find out how to get involved.
Winner

This week's Newsweek Pet of the Week is Franklin, a cat who went from wandering the streets to sitting at the table with his owners.
Andrea and Alice live in New York and found Franklin wandering one day when they decided to take him in.
"We found him wandering along the median strip on Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn and brought him right home to live with our two other cats," Andrea told Newsweek.
Dubbed their "spaghetti cat" because he is so long, the feline is super smart and always there for his owners.
When they sit to eat, Franklin wants to join in too. "He loves to sit with us during meals and drink water out of his own glass," Andrea explained, sharing a video of the cat drinking from his very own glass at the table.
Finalists

Our first finalist this week is Scarlett, a tiny Shih Tzu whose owner says she has a "heart of gold."
Living with owner Michelle Smith, Scarlett was born with a deformed spine.
"She doesn't let that slow her down," Smith told Newsweek.
With her own Instagram page, Smith shares Scarlett's story on social media, hoping to be an advocate for rescue and special needs pets.
Under the handle @scarlettsfaith on Instagram, they share everything from her jazzy outfits to neighborhood adventures.

Next up this week is Archie, a brown and white tabby who lives with owner Tracy Scalia.
"[We] have had him since he was 6 weeks," Scalia told Newsweek. "He is the most hilarious camera loving posing thing ever."
When he isn't posing for pictures, Archie likes to play on the iPad and hang out with his orange tabby friend.

Last, but not least this week, is black Labrador Bodhi who lives in North Carolina with owner Janie Neely.
Adopted from the nearby humane society, Bodhi loves toys and has plenty to play with.
His favorite thing though? Going on adventures. "In the car, on a walk, to day care, to Lowe's for attention and treats," Neely explained.
Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share? Send them to life@newsweek.com with some details about your best friend, and they could appear in our Pet of the Week lineup.
