CD Projekt Red hasn't even released the first expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 and the studio is already looking to the future. In a series of tweets this week, the company announced that multiple new games are in the works.
One will be a new game set within Cyberpunk's "dark future universe." CD Projekt Red is currently referring to this project as Orion, and the studio says it will continue harnessing the potential of the Cyberpunk franchise. CD Projekt Red hasn't shared much about this project, or even if it will include more of V and Johnny—the two main protagonists from Cyberpunk 2077.
The second game revealed is a follow-up to The Witcher series, a project currently called Polaris, which CD Projekt Red says will introduce an entirely new saga to the franchise. This new game will act as the first of a new role-playing game trilogy. In other news about The Witcher franchise, CD Projekt Red says it is working on another project currently referred to as Canis Majoris, a completely separate saga in The Witcher series.
The studio also announced a project called Sirius, which will be worked on by The Molasses Flood, an under studio for CD Projekt Red. Sirius, CD Projekt Red says, will feature a single-player experience and a multiplayer experience, including a campaign complete with The Witcher-styled quests and a story.

Finally, CD Projekt Red announced that it will be starting work on its first ever "entirely distinct IP" very soon. This project, codenamed Hadar, will be created completely from scratch within the studio. CD Projekt Red shared that it is currently in the earliest stages of the creative process, but it will be built entirely on the foundation of a new setting.
The Witcher has helped build up CD Projekt Red quite a bit over the years—garnering tons of attention from fans of role-playing games and The Witcher book series. Now that CD Projekt Red has announced several new games, fans of the franchise can look forward to seeing what else the studio can offer from that universe.
Plus, the announcement that CD Projekt Red is working on a new Cyberpunk game comes at a good time for the studio, which recently released a series of huge updates that made several big quality-of-life changes to the game. When Cyberpunk 2077 was originally released, it received many negative reviews and feedback for performance issues, bugs and missing content.
A video breaking down the details of CD Projekt Red's long-term strategy can be found on the company's YouTube. It's roughly 15 minutes but includes some additional information about the different projects that the CD Projekt Group is currently working on.
When asked about these announcements, CD Projekt Red told Newsweek that development on the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 sequel would be led entirely by CD Projekt Red North America, allowing the team to pull upon all of its North American talent pool to carry out the development of the title.
CD Projekt Red also confirmed to Newsweek that the studio's upcoming new IP, currently referred to as Hadar, began as an early concept in 2021, so the studio is still working on the overall foundation it wants to build from.
