Dogs, much like children, cannot get enough love from their grandparents. And who's to blame them? Because, well, grandparents tend to spoil them too.

But one Chihuahua has very strong and totally unexpected feelings toward his grandma. Toby has the best relationship with his grandpa, while grandma, on the other hand, is known as the "spare human."

The November 25 TikTok video shows Toby's feelings toward grandma as she greeted him at the door.

The caption reads: "That didn't go as planned."

Toby went from practically running down the path expecting to see grandpa to hesitating as soon as he realized the spare grandparent had opened the door.

The pooch's side-eye spoke volumes in this video. Toby wanted nothing to do with grandma. He moved to the side as much as possible, avoiding any potential hugs and kisses from her.

Instead, he was solely focused on getting into the house as quickly as possible to see the person he really came for.

What the Comments Say

The clip, which brought in over 104,000 views and 4,539 likes, had users in awe over Toby's precious hops on his way to his grandparents' house.

One viewer commented: "I swear he was skipping!"

Have you ever seen a Chihuahua walk so fast before? He probably thought the faster he walked, the faster he could get treats from grandpa.

The video also struck a chord with some as they can relate to being the spare human. Unfortunately, there always has to be one.

"I'm the spare grandparent and it hurts sometimes," wrote one TikTok user.

Newsweek reached out to the poster via TikTok for comment.

This is not the first time and definitely not the last time that a dog will show their feelings toward a spare human.

One dog mom recently learned she was the spare human after her golden retriever puppy didn't listen to her in the car. He listened to his favorite human instead and sat up on the center console, staring down mom like he owned the place.

Owners can get an idea of who their dog likes more with a few simple signs. Dogs will gravitate toward their favorite humans and rub up against that person as much as possible. Other signs of a dog's love and affection include prolonged eye contact and wagging tails.
