Week 7 had a dramatic impact on the college football rankings, with Clemson sliding to No. 3 and Georgia losing seven spots.

The national champions routed ACC rival Florida State 45-14 and extended their winning run to 21 games but slid to third in the Associated Press poll, their lowest ranking since the season began.

Alabama retained top spot after defeating No. 24 Texas A&M on the road 47-28, which saw the Aggies drop out of the Top 25 ranking.

LSU was the big mover of the week, climbing from fifth to second after defeating Florida 42-28 at home, while the Gators slid from seventh to ninth.

In Week 8, Alabama hosts Tennessee, while Clemson travels to Louisville and LSU takes on Mississippi State on the road.

Georgia, meanwhile, hosts Kentucky as it looks to rebound from a potentially season-defining loss. The Bulldogs lost at home 20-17 to SEC East rivals South Carolina in double overtime and dropped from No. 3 to No. 10.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma climbed up a spot to No. 5 after beating Texas 34-27 in Dallas in the Red River Showdown. The defeat sent the previously No. 11 ranked Longhorns down to No. 15, while Ohio State slid from No. 3 to No. 4 after a bye week.

Oklahoma welcomes West Virginia in Week 8, while the Buckeyes travel to Illinois to face Northwestern on Friday night.

Elsewhere, Penn State climbed from No. 10 to No.7 with a 17-12 road win over Iowa and will take on No. 16 Michigan at home in Week 8. The Hawkeyes, meanwhile, slipped from 17th to 23rd after their loss to the Nittany Lions and host Purdue on Saturday.
