Stand-up comedian Dave Chappelle had some choice words for people attending his Sunday night show in San Francisco.
Chappelle brought Twitter CEO Elon Musk on stage in a surprise appearance during his special Punchline Comedy Club event. Many audience members weren't pleased to see Musk, who recently purchased the social media platform for $44 billion and is often the subject of criticism. A loud chorus of boos, accompanied by cheers, roared through the crowd when Musk took the stage. Chappelle criticized the people booing and later in the set, went on to refer to some of the audience as members of Antifa, a left-wing anti-fascist and anti-racist political movement.
A YouTube video of Chappelle's show depicts Musk joining the comedian on stage and saying, "Dave, what do I say?" prompting the crowd to boo him.
"Do you hear that sound, Elon? That's the sound of pending civil unrest," Chapelle responded, which was met with laughs.
Chappelle then criticized the people booing.

"I can't wait to see what store you decimate next," he said, referring to the recent looting that has been happening in the country.
Many stores across the nation have been subject to hordes of looters smashing windows and stealing items. In some viral videos, there are dozens or more looters pouring into the stores all at once. However, Antifa has not taken responsibility for the mass looting.
Later in the show, a fight broke out making Chappelle pause his show to tell the participants to "cut that s*** out," and then referred to them as members of Antifa.
In an article published by CNBC on Monday, Chappelle continued insulting the attendees booing the Twitter CEO by saying those people had "terrible seats."
Meanwhile, Twitter user James Yu tweeted that he attended the show and said Musk's performance was poor.
"Dave is like a 99.99% percentile stage presence," he tweeted. "Impossible to not look bad in that situation in comparison."
My only read is that he thought it would be a layup. Ppl feeling good after chapelle set. SF home turf.

But Dave is like a 99.99% percentile stage presence. Impossible to not look bad in that situation in comparison.
For much of his appearance, Musk stood on stage and didn't say anything. Yu tweeted that he felt bad for Musk during the set.
"I wanted to shake him: for the love of god man, say something and pretend it's a tweet!!" he tweeted.
I actually felt bad for him. I’m by no means an Elon fanboy, more a centrist. I wanted to shake him: for the love of god man, say something and pretend it’s a tweet!!

One Twitter user asked Yu if there was a video of the show. Phones and cameras were prohibited at the show, but another Twitter user responded, saying, "I got you" and reportedly linked a video of the exchange. The account has since been deactivated, which sparked even more criticism for Musk.
"commenting before this video is brutally taken down bc Elon's mod team is set to 'alert me when someone makes fun of me immediately,'" one user tweeted in response to the now-deleted tweet.

"Man, every account that I have seen that linked anything to do with this has been taken down. Wow. Sure do love all this new found freedom of speech on Twitter!" another tweeted.

Meanwhile, one user responded with a copy of the video that hadn't been removed from Twitter yet. The video shows the crowd booing and Musk waving in response.
