The "wholesome" moment two deaf parents sang "happy birthday" has gone viral on Tik Tok.

Over 2 million people have watched the video shared by @emmasontiktok, whose parents are deaf.

They can be seen singing and using sign language to wish Emma's boyfriend Matt a happy birthday.

The video, described by one viewer as "precious," has been liked more than 340,000 times. You can watch it here.

Today, about 11.5 million Americans have some sort of hearing impairment, ranging from difficulty in hearing conversation to total hearing loss. That's about 3.5 percent of the population. In addition, around 50 million of the population experience some level of tinnitus—a constant ringing in the ears.

The viral video has gained a lot of attention, with many people praising the parents.

One user said: "I'm deaf and my speech is exactly like this. Trying to learn more Sign Language too! This makes me so happy to see!"

It's an outdated misconception that people who are deaf cannot talk. Outside of other conditions that would prevent speech, deaf people can talk, but they may have trouble controlling their voice in the absence of sound. Without the ability to hear, many deaf people rely on their sight, they may lip-read when communicating.

The website Healthline encourages people to speak in full, clear sentences with deaf children, as this can help strengthen their language skills. Healthline urges people to be considerate by speaking slowly and avoiding patronizing language. It is important to make deaf people feel included and involve them in conversations too.

One user said: "I am going to be smiling for the rest of the day now. Incredibly sweet!"

"My parents are also deaf, thank you it's brilliant well done for sharing," said one user.

"These Tik Toks are my favorite kind," said another.
