When Isaiah Allison and his fiancé Brenna McAskill got engaged recently, they wanted to ensure the special moment was captured in a way that is truly unique to them.
The results? A set of stand-out images from an engagement shoot that has captured viral attention online.
The couple enlisted the help of photographer Peyton Olivia for an engagement photoshoot at Hagerstown City Park, Maryland. In the pictures, the denim-clad couple posed throughout the park in unusually awkward poses.

"The photo shoot was heavily inspired by the movie Masterminds with Zach Galifianakis, where in a scene he takes photos with his wife wearing all denim and doing really awkward poses. We saw that and thought—perfect, that is so us," Allison told Newsweek.
They showed a few stills from the movie to photographer Peyton Olivia and she worked her magic, directing the couple and creating the stand-out pictures.
"She was really great, had us doing poses that genuinely made us feel as awkward as the photos portrayed, which was the goal," said Allison. "It's actually kind of funny too because when we got to the park, there were so many people all dressed up taking pictures for prom."

After the shoot, Peyton edited and sent the photos through to the couple who were thrilled: "We thought they were perfect," said Allison. "We wanted a goofy, lighthearted photoshoot that captured our personality and relationship while not being cliche. We laughed the whole day we got the photos got back."
When the couple shared the pictures on Reddit's popular r/pics forum, the internet blew up with praise. With over 57,000 upvotes, commenters rushed to share their reactions.
One commenter said "Congrats! I'm glad you weirdos found each other," while another replied: "And that absolute artist of a photographer."
"You two look like you're having so much fun," said one Redditor. "Almost as much fun as whoever is editing these photos."

Allison was inspired to share the pictures on Reddit after seeing other couples share their engagement photo shoots.
"I thought others would enjoy the goofiness," he said. "When we woke up and saw the post had blown up we were a bit flabbergasted. We knew the photos were great but didn't expect it to go viral."
The big day is planned for December 17, 2023, but the couple plan to have a few more photo shoots before then.
"We really want our next one to be some family portraits with our cats. We have five cats. Imagine five cats in denim," said Allison.
