Jay Cutler posted a sweet Mother's Day tribute to his ex Kristin Cavallari on Instagram...or did he? Fans were confused by the social media update and the former couple's interaction.
Cavallari and Cutler announced on April 26 that they were getting a divorce. The Laguna Beach alum and former Chicago Bears quarterback had been together for 10 years and share three children.
"We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of," she wrote on Instagram at the time. "This is just the situation of two people growing apart."

Several news outlets noted that their divorce wasn't exactly amicable. The former couple seemed to be fighting about finances, property and their children. Additionally, Cutler was accused of having an affair with Cavallari's former best friend Kelly Henderson.
Fast forward to May 11, when Cutler shared an Instagram post dedicated to the Very Cavallari star and honored the mother of his children. Not long after the picture was shared, Cavallari responded to the picture with a heart emoji.
However, fans were not convinced that the former NFL star posted it on his own accord. In 2017, Cavallari set up the Instagram account @ifjayhadinstagram and would post images and caption pictures as though Cutler was the one doing it. This major detail about the account made fans believe the former MTV star posted the Mother's Day tribute.
"Give Jay his Instagram," one fan wrote. "YOU WON'T FOOL US KRISTIN," another user commented. "Kristin, babe, we know you run this account. Happy Mother's Day though," a third chimed in.
"This is really gross. If Jay had instagram..he wouldn't post this. Tell your media team this post is insensitive and disrespectful to Jay," a user fired at Cavallari. "If this is Kristin she must be the biggest narcissist!!! I mean really," another wrote.
However, Cavallari stopped running Cutler's Instagram account shortly after news of their divorce broke. The former football player updated his bio to clarify that he runs the handle @ifjayhadinstagram. "I don't have Instagram, but if I did...and now I do," his bio states.
Whether or not Cavallari posted on Cutler's account remains to be confirmed.
