The touching moment a new mom dog gifted her 13 puppies her favorite toy has been melting hearts online.

Koda, a Bernese mountain dog, crossed with a Great Pyrenees, recently gave birth to 13 puppies. Cared for by owner Kate in Saskatchewan, Canada, her motherly nature was on display for all to see when she brought her puppies a soft bunny rabbit toy.

"She is an amazing mom," Kate told Newsweek, highlighting that this wasn't Koda's first rodeo; it's her second litter.

The video, which has quickly gone viral on TikTok with over 225,000 views, showcases Koda's thoughtful gesture towards her 13 puppies. In the footage, Koda can be seen bringing a stuffed rabbit to her newborns, demonstrating a remarkable display of maternal care. Kate revealed, "If I remove it, she takes it right back," emphasizing Koda's determination to provide comfort to her offspring.

Mother dogs have strong maternal instincts toward puppies, particularly during the first few weeks of their lives when they often give their offspring undivided attention.

As they get older, the mother encourages their socialization and weaning, gradually transitioning them to solid food and independence. Usually, puppies will be separated from their parents when they are given their own forever home, but moments of reunion between dogs and their parents are often delightful.

Things only get cuter as the video shows the puppies eagerly cuddling up to the plush toy's soft fur.

In the comments section, viewers shared their thoughts and pure joy at seeing the heartwarming relationship.

"It's her comfort woobie, and she wants to share it with her babies," said one commenter. While another wrote: "Mom is smart and sweet... It gives the pups a snuggle substitute so she can take a break."

Another commenter joked: "She hired a babysitter."

The sight of the puppies sleeping peacefully alongside the stuffed toy caused plenty of joy, with one comment that read: "My heart just melted on the floor."

Another dog's gift for her puppies delighted the internet last year when Gimlee tried to give her puppies a dead quail. Luckily, the owner spotted what was going on and stopped the puppies from eating it, but online, the reactions reveled in the hilarity.
