A social-media video that had been shared in 2022, of a dog meeting Santa Claus for the very first time, has resurfaced online and gone viral.

The clip has been viewed more than 645,000 times since it was reposted to TikTok on November 3 under the username @huey_the_blue_staffy. The charming footage captures Huey the blue-shaded Staffordshire bull terrier's heartwarming reaction to seeing his first Christmas Santa.

The dog, which lives in Staffordshire, a county in the middle of England, can be seen wagging his tail with excitement at his first sight of Santa, before snuggling up to him and enjoying some belly rubs. The pair even paused for a photograph together in the makeshift grotto, which Huey's owner framed and took home.

Huey is now 2 years old, but his owner holds onto the Christmas memory with fondness. They told Newsweek how the viral moment came to happen, and spoke of their plans to reunite the wonderful Huey with the Staffordshire Santa soon.

"The video is from a dog Christmas party at a lovely dog park near to us in Staffordshire," said Huey's owner, who wanted to remain anonymous.

"We took him along to meet Santa Claus for the first time in 2021 when he was just 6 months old. He wore his Christmas jumper and was a really good boy!" Huey's owner said.

"He was so excited to meet Santa and loved all the belly rubs he got. Huey was super happy after his visit and spent the afternoon playing with all the other dogs," the owner added.

Huey's owner went on to share that the dog wore his "happiest smile" on that day. They said of the Staffy's delight: "Huey just loves people, but Santa is definitely his favorite person! He got lots of toys and treats that year. I'll definitely be taking him every year."

What Do the Comments Say?

Since Huey's Santa visit was shared to the social-media platform on November 3 by the account dedicated to the dog, the TikTok post has been liked by almost 110,000 users and commented on more than 815 times.

"Owning a blue Staffy is my dream," one user wrote of Huey.
