A video of two dogs in matching pajamas posing for the camera has gone viral on TikTok.

The clip was posted by TikTok user @akirablackpit and has over 935,000 views since it was first shared earlier this week to the social media platform.

The footage shows the two dogs, Akira and Asahi, sitting next to each other on a floor. They're wearing matching onesie outfits with pink pig animal prints on it. Akira, the larger dog, is also donning a pink bow headband.

A voice in the clip says: "Do you like how she looks? Give her a hug."

Akira is then seen placing her front leg over the smaller pup's back. The pair remain still staring into the camera as the clip ends. A message overlaid on the video says: "I wasn't expecting how perfect that hug was."

Newsweek has contacted @akirablackpit for comment via TikTok. This video has not been independently verified.

The seemingly close bond between the two canines in the latest clip comes as no surprise as "dogs can form relationships of comparable qualities with both humans and other dogs," according to a March 2019 study published in Scientific Reports.

"These relationships vary along multiple components across different partners," the study found.

As adorable as the dog duo looks, it's important to "only dress up your pet if you're sure they're comfortable and not stressed while wearing their outfit," the Animal Humane Society says on its website.

"Pets can't tell us what is bothering them about a costume and may simply react by wanting it off," veterinarian Sandra C. Mitchell said in a September 2022 article for PetMD.

Any clothing you put on your pet must fit properly "without restricting movement, causing trouble breathing, or rubbing anywhere that might cause bare spots or sores," the veterinarian explained.

Once you've checked that the clothing fits properly, your pet should be supervised the entire time it is worn. Leave it on for a short while and remove it before it makes your pet too uncomfortable.

Your pet "may chew off and ingest a portion" of the clothing, "which may cause intestinal obstructions or other emergency conditions," Mitchell also warned.

In her article, the veterinarian said that some pets may have allergic reactions to certain fabrics. Pet owners should look out for any signs of itching, rashes or respiratory issues that the outfit may be causing. "If you notice any changes that are concerning, remove the costume right away, and bathe your pet in a gentle shampoo like Dawn dish soap," Mitchell suggested.
