Doja Cat Slams Elon Musk After Getting Stuck With Twitter Name 'Christmas'

Doja Cat is the latest celebrity to criticize Elon Musk and Twitter Blue users, seemingly because she's now stuck with the name "Christmas" on the social media site.

The rapper and singer changed her Twitter screen name to Christmas recently, but since the controversial $8 Twitter Blue subscription went live, she's seemingly stuck with it as her screen name. The billionaire did take the time to respond to Doja Cat's plight, assuring her that a fix is on the way.

After writing some one word, expletive-filled tweets, she shared her problem with fans.

"Why can't I change my name on here," Doja Cat wrote early on Thursday morning. "How do I change it, also f*** you Elon."

"I don't wanna be Christmas forever [Elon Musk] please help I've made a mistake," she wrote. Doja Cat's fans told her in the comments that the new rules mean she has to pay $8 if she wants to now change her screen name.

The new Twitter owner Musk replied to Doja Cat to confirm they're working on it. "Pretty funny though," he added with some crying laughing emojis.

Minutes later she tweeted an audio clip which was just a six-second sigh.

"You guys are paying $8 a month to come on here and go to war with people who are not in agreement with who your favorite popstar is," Doja Cat said in a separate Twitter voice recording. "You're paying $8 a month to come on here and say [stuff] like 'byeee.'

"Umm you're coming on here for $8 a month to post porn and then get into an argument. I think I can stop there. Ok, cool. Bye," Doja Cat said.

As fans started to reply to the singer, she started retweeting and replying in kind. She suggested that she was just tweeting all of these things to make fun of everybody.

Doja Cat isn't the first celebrity to mock the new Twitter payment scheme introduced by Musk after he bought the social media site.

Several celebrities, the latest being Whoopi Goldberg, threatened to quit Twitter if Musk took over, and the likes of Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings have been mocking him.

Since the new blue check mark Twitter charge launched, the social media site has seen a huge rise in athletes being mimicked online. Fans reacted angrily to LeBron James seemingly requesting for a trade, only for everyone to later realize it was a fake account pretending to be the NBA star.

On Wednesday, Musk seemingly anticipated a range of problems plaguing the site. "Please note that Twitter will do lots of dumb things in coming months," he wrote. "We will keep what works & change what doesn't."

Across Wednesday night and Thursday morning, Musk replied to a number of people online making complaints, including Doja Cat. He conversed with billionaire Mark Cuban about making the "verified mentions tab more usable," and he also insisted there will be a purge of inactive users incoming.
