Dolly Parton's 'Run, Rose, Run' New Album Release Date and Tracklist Ahead of Novel Launch

Dolly Parton is making her grand return to the the world of music with a brand new album and book.

Run, Rose, Run is the country music icon's 48th album release, which will come out in conjunction with a novel of the same name.

Dolly Parton's 'Run, Rose, Run' Release Date

Parton's Run, Rose Run was first announced in January, with the music icon discussing her newest tracks in a press statement.

Per NME, Parton said of her song "Big Dreams And Faded Jeans": "So many people come to Nashville with their sack of songs. Whether they're running from anything or not, they're running towards a future.

"That's what 'Big Dreams And Faded Jeans' is all about. I am so pleased to finally share the first song from this exciting new album with all of you!"

In her announcement, Parton also confirmed that her 12-track album would be released on Friday, March 4 via Butterfly Records. Run, Rose, Run is available to be pre-saved ahead of its official launch.

Dolly Parton's 'Run, Rose, Run' Album Tracklist

Parton collaborated on the album and its accompanying book with author James Patterson, with Parton focusing predominantly on writing song lyrics and Patterson mainly writing the book.

The pair helped inspire the other's work by sharing what they had written in order to make a complete product.

In an interview with EW, Parton explained how their collaboration worked, saying: "He wrote a lot and then I would read what he was writing, then I would write songs.

"James had not heard the music or the melody or the production; he just knew only the lyrics that I would send back and forth, and he'd incorporate the lyrics into the book.

"Then I brought James and his wife, Sue, down [to Nashville] for a listening party because I wanted him to hear it before we got other people involved. I was a nervous wreck wondering what he would think."

Parton made 12 songs in total for the album, which complement Patterson's mystery book about a person trying to make it in the music business.
