Social-media commentators have said that an interview where former President Donald Trump spoke to his daughter-in-law had been edited to remove part of his comments.

The former president gave the interview to Lara Trump, who is married to his son Eric, in a 20-minute episode of her show The Right View that was shared online on Friday.

During a section where Trump discussed nuclear weapons, there is a brief jump-cut as he speaks that has led to speculation about what he said and why it might have been excised.

PatriotTakes, who describe themselves as "researchers monitoring and exposing right-wing extremism," shared a 40-second clip of the interview to Twitter on Friday that featured the apparent edit.

"Lara Trump apparently censored Trump's comments calling nuclear weapons, 'the N-word,' from her show, The Right View," the PatriotTakes Twitter account wrote.

"Notice the jump-cut at (0:08)," the group added.

It is not clear if what part of Trump's comments were edited out, if any, or if the former president said the phrase "the N-word" to refer to nuclear weapons. Trump has used the term to describe the weapons in the past, and PatriotTakes shared some examples of those comments.

During the interview, Trump discussed Russia and Ukraine, and at one point he said: "And now for the last two weeks, they're talking about nuclear."

"This hasn't been discussed," Trump added. "This was a no-no. You don't ever mention it."

That line was immediately followed by a jump-cut and, afterward, Trump continued: "I said, 'You don't mention it, and you don't mention it. You don't say it.' Well, they've used the nuclear word, and it's considered a no-no. You don't do it."

PatriotTakes also wrote that it would be hypocritical if the interview had been edited to remove some of Trump's comments as both the former president and Lara Trump complained about censorship during their conversation.

Brian Tyler Cohen, host of the No Lie With Brian Tyler Cohen podcast, shared the clip on Twitter and wrote: "Trump's own family is censoring him in an interview where they *literally* whine about censorship."

Newsweek has asked former President Trump's office for comment.

In April, Trump told a room of supporters that "the n-word" now meant "nuclear" for him.

"We have the greatest nuclear force in the world. You don't want to do that. You know the — I call it the 'n-word'," the former president said at the time. "OK, I said that to a group of people. They said: 'The n-word, oh, he said a horrible thing!'"

In September, on his self-titled NBC show, late-night host Seth Meyers mocked Trump for using the phrase to refer to nuclear weapons, saying: "What's wrong with you? Why would you shorten a word no one shortens like that?"
