Donald Trump Jr. is being mocked by many social media users after a midterms prediction he tweeted out on Tuesday did not come to pass.
"Bloodbath!!!" the former president's eldest son posted on the evening of the elections.

However, Trump's prediction—which was also shared by prominent political pundits—of a red wave sweeping across the country did not come to pass. While Republican candidates notched decisive victories, several key races remained too close to call Wednesday morning, and Democrats managed to overcome GOP challenges in large states such as Pennsylvania and New York.
"This tweet aged like milk buddy," the Lincoln Project, which is a political committee comprised of former and current Republicans who oppose former President Donald Trump, tweeted about Trump Jr.'s message.
"Big tech must be showing him the wrong algorithms again," Peter Hamby, the host of Snapchat's Good Luck America, wrote.
Many of the comments to Trump Jr.'s post pointed him toward victory results for Democrats.
One person wrote in the comment section of his post, "Ummm. What are you watching, Don? Everything I'm looking at is the opposite lol."

"Poooh really. Is your blood BLUE!!!!!" singer/actress Conchita Leeflang said.
"Fake news," the rock band Cloakroom's Twitter account wrote in response to the "Bloodbath" tweet.

Currently, Republicans look to have a narrow majority of seats in the House of Representatives following Tuesday's elections, while Democrats should maintain a slight advantage in the U.S. Senate. On Wednesday, political debate has centered on what place the elder Trump should hold on the Republican Party after some of the candidates he heavily backed faltered at the polls.
The debate carried over into Trump Jr.'s comments section for his "Bloodbath" tweet. As one person wrote, "Yeah, Republicans got whooped. Two biggest mistakes were coming for reproductive rights and letting Trump campaign for them."
While Trump Jr. did have supporters who cheered on his message, the comments became overwhelmingly flooded with posts mocking him as more results were announced.
Several people also referenced the legal issues Trump's family currently faces.
"Only at Mar A Lago, and under your corrupt little roofs with the many lawsuits in process and all the indictments heading your way. Buckle up Jr!" read one tweet about a "Bloodbath."

Trump Jr.'s election prediction wasn't the only Twitter message he's posted in recent weeks that has resulted in headlines. After Paul Pelosi—husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi—was attacked with a hammer in October, Trump Jr. made light of the situation by tweeting a photo that showed a hammer lying on top of men's underwear. It was captioned: "Got my Paul Pelosi Halloween costume ready."
Newsweek reached out to Trump Jr. for comment.
