Former President Donald Trump reacted to seeing his children testify on Thursday amid his ongoing civil fraud trial in New York City.

"So sad to see my sons being PERSECUTED in a political Witch Hunt by this out of control, publicity seeking, New York State Judge, on a case that should have NEVER been brought. Legal Scholars Scream Disgrace!

"My $WORTH is far GREATER than on Financial Statements, plus they contain a full DISCLAIMER CLAUSE telling readers of this information to do their own due diligence and analysis," Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social on Thursday afternoon.

"ALSO, their Star Witness admitted on the stand that he LIED, a big story not covered by the press. Banks and Insurance Companies made money, not even a minor default, and there were NO VICTIMS, except for the people getting mugged and murdered on the sidewalks of New York while our Corrupt Attorney General sits on her a** in Court all day watching the Trump family be abused by a Trump Hating Judge that said a Billion Dollar house is only worth $18,000,000 Million Dollars!!!" Trump's post added.

The remarks by Trump came shortly after his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump took the stand to testify in a New York City courtroom on Thursday. Trump, his sons and The Trump Organization have been accused of civil fraud by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

They are charged with illegally inflating the value of The Trump organization. The former president has also been accused of inflating the value of some of his properties, such as his Mar-a-Lago residence, as well as his own net worth. Trump has continued to deny any wrongdoing in the case.

During his testimony on Thursday, Trump Jr. was asked about signing financial documents and said that while some signatures were his, he didn't remember the details of them.

"I would have checked with our legal department. If they assured me in their expert opinion that these things were fine, I would have been fine with that and would have signed accordingly," Trump Jr. testified.

Shortly after, Eric Trump took the stand and questions began on his role in The Trump Organization and how he reported to his father.

"I worked with many people, but ultimately reported to my father," Eric Trump said.

During another portion of his testimony, Eric Trump said he had "never worked," on statements of financial condition for The Trump Organization. However, according to Kyle Griffin of MSNBC News, Eric Trump was later shown an email in which he is asked by an employee to assist on a statement of financial condition.

Newsweek reached out to the New York Attorney General's Office via email for comment.
