The Iowa caucus results show Trump has cemented himself among voters as the clear favorite in the GOP primary, with the former president having already secured key endorsements from Republican Senators.

Trump was the overall victor on Monday night in Iowa after getting 51 percent of the votes, with his 30-point margin over his nearest challenger Florida Governor Ron DeSantis emerging as a record for the state's caucus.

Trump has long been considered the frontrunner in the GOP primary, with polls frequently suggesting he has double-digit leads in states across the country over his rivals.

Trump has also enjoyed crucial endorsements from Republican lawmakers and currently has more endorsements from GOP Senators than the rest of the primary field combined.

As noted by FiveThirtyEight's endorsement tracker, Trump currently has the backing of 23 sitting U.S. Senators, including Ohio's J.D. Vance, South Carolina's Lindsey Graham, and Tennessee's Marsha Blackburn.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio was the most recent to endorse Trump in the 2024 election, confirming his backing in a January 14 post on X, formerly Twitter.

"When Trump was in White House I achieved major policies I had worked on for years (like expanded Child Tax Credit & tough sanctions on regime in Cuba & Venezuela) because we had a President who didn't cave to special interests or let bureaucrats block us," Rubio wrote.

"I support Trump because that kind of leadership is the ONLY way we will get the extraordinary actions needed to fix the disaster Biden has created. It's time to get on with the work of beating Biden & saving America!"

Trump's office has been contacted for comment via email.

In comparison, neither DeSantis nor Haley, who finished third in the Iowa caucus, have received any endorsements from Republican Senators for their White House bids.

Elsewhere, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, who dropped out of the 2024 race in November, was endorsed by his Republican counterpart Mike Rounds, who has not backed anyone else in the race since.

Fellow longshot Republican primary hopeful, North Dakota Governor Doug Bergum, who withdrew from the race in December, was endorsed by the state's GOP senators, Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven. Both North Dakota senators have since endorsed Trump in the race.

Just ahead of the Iowa caucus, Bergum announced that he is now backing Trump for president.

Bergum's backing means that Trump now has nine sitting governors backing his 2024 bid, including, South Carolina's Henry McCaster and Texas' Greg Abbott.

By contrast, two governors have endorsed DeSantis—Oklahoma's Kevin Stitt and Iowa's Kim Reynolds—and one has endorsed Haley (New Hampshire's Chris Sununu).

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has previously endorsed former Vice President Mike Pence in the race before he dropped out in December.

Elsewhere, Trump has gained the backing of dozens of GOP members of the House of Representatives, including MAGA loyalists Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ohio's Jim Jordan, and Florida's Matt Gaetz.

Trump has the backing of leading GOP members of the House for his 2024 presidential campaign, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise.
