Dr. Jennifer Ashton has revealed she's taking a break from GMA3: What You Need to Know amid media reports about co-hosts T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach's alleged affair.

The gynecologist, 53, is the chief medical correspondent and health editor for ABC News and Good Morning America. On GMA3, a lunchtime spinoff of the morning show, Ashton offers viewers her opinions on medical topics.

Holmes, 45, and Robach, 49, are on hiatus from the show after the Daily Mail published photos last month of the pair getting cozy in various locations around New York City. They last appeared on the program on December 2, when they seemingly made light of their apparent romance.

"It's too bad it's Friday," Holmes said during the broadcast. "It's been a great week. I just want this one to keep going and going and going."

In response, Robach said, "Speak for yourself."

"I am very excited about the weekend—and I'm sure everyone else is too," the Better Together author added. "We all love our Fridays around here. Some of us do, at least."

Holmes has been married to Marilee Fiebig since 2010, and they share one child, daughter Sabine. He's also a dad to Brianna and Jaiden, whom he shares with ex-wife Amy Ferson.

Robach, meanwhile, married Andrew Shue in 2010. She shares two daughters—Ava and Annie—with ex-husband Tim McIntosh and is a stepmom to Shue's three sons: Nate, Aidan and Wyatt.

On December 12, ABC News President Kim Godwin reportedly sent a memo to network employees revealing that the co-hosts would "remain off-air pending the completion of an internal review." The note also reportedly said there would "be a rotation of anchors at GMA3 for the time being."

It's unclear when—or if—Holmes and Robach will return to the show, which they've co-anchored together since 2020.

Amid the drama, Ashton took to Instagram to say she will be "going on vacation" while also debunking Prince Harry's comments on Meghan Markle's miscarriage.

"Good Morning America: my 'last day of work before going on vacation' look.... This morning discussing Prince Harry's statement that he believes stress led to their miscarriage. As an OBGYN I can tell you that if stress led to pregnancy loss, the human race would have ceased years ago," she said.

"While it's normal to look for an explanation, or answers or place blame (often erroneously placed on the woman), miscarriage is common, often due to chromosomal anomalies, or unexplained. Women's bodies are not so fragile that stress or exercise threatens a pregnancy. Thanks to @camillian13 @dsmags @alexandermcqueen."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke about the miscarriage during the second episode of their new Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, which was released last Thursday.

In 2020, Markle took legal action against Associated Newspapers after the publisher of The Mail on Sunday and the MailOnline printed sections of a private letter she sent to her father, Thomas Markle, following her 2018 wedding to Harry.

"I believe my wife suffered a miscarriage because of what the Mail did. I watched the whole thing," Harry said, adding that "stress" caused his wife's "lack of sleep."

Ashton has been on Good Morning America for the past 11 years. In an April 2021 interview with Resident magazine, she detailed her relationship with Holmes and Robach.

"The three of us have been working and collaborating together on random segments for a while now," she said at the time. "When Amy would anchor GMA, we had a joke between us—we would just always say we felt like we were in a tennis match or doing a dance and that we wish we could do it all the time."

The physician added, "I can't overstate the amount of respect and admiration I have for these guys and what they do on the air, especially when it comes to their range. It's like watching the G.O.A.T. of athletes every day do their thing. I learn so much from them."
