Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz's campaign headquarters appeared to be empty as the closely watched race in Pennsylvania was called for Democratic candidate John Fetterman.
Several reports described Oz supporters streaming out of the Republican's Election Night event in Newtown, Pennsylvania, after Fox News officially called the race for Fetterman.
Early Wednesday, CNN anchor Jake Tapper described Oz headquarters as looking like "a high school dance past midnight" and "not exactly the sight of a jubilant celebration." Footage of the event space showed that most of the crowd had cleared out right after the Senate race was called.
News Nation's Kellie Meyer also reported that "the room has cleared out" at what was supposed to be Oz's victory party and videos showed Fetterman's supporters cheering as footage of Oz's empty hall aired on TV at the Democrat's party in Pittsburgh. CBS also reported that Oz's campaign asked reporters to leave the event in Newtown, where he has not spoken.

Oz's defeat was a tough loss for Republicans who had hoped to hold the seat in the Keystone State left vacant by retiring GOP Senator Pat Toomey. It also represented a win for the Democrats, who only had a real opportunity of picking up a seat in Pennsylvania.
"It's official. I will be the next U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania," Fetterman tweeted shortly after the race was called. "We bet on the people of Pennsylvania — and you didn't let us down And I won't let you down. Thank you."
Fetterman had held a massive lead over Oz throughout much of the campaign cycle but his Republican opponent managed to narrow the gap in the final weeks leading up to Election Day. However, Fetterman prevailed on Tuesday, securing 50 percent of the vote with 91 percent of the votes counted.
As of 1:45 a.m. ET, Oz had not issued a statement acknowledging the calls or conceding the race to Fetterman.

After Fetterman was projected by multiple networks to win, the White House said that President Joe Biden texted the lieutenant governor congratulations and that Biden "had a great time with the senator-elect on Saturday," according to CNN's Phil Mattingly.
Although there are still several races to be called, Democrats are looking more and more likely to be able to hold onto their Senate majority, despite projections that had suggested a red wave would hit Congress this year.
Fetterman's victory wasn't the only statewide win for Democrats in Pennsylvania. Attorney General Josh Shapiro also defeated Republican Doug Mastriano in the state's gubernatorial race, meaning that both of former President Donald Trump's endorsed candidates lost in the Keystone State on Tuesday.
