After more than a year of waiting, season four of Netflix's Spanish drama Elite is finally here. Ahead of the show's premiere on Friday, there are four special episodes for fans to watch. What is Elite: Short Stories on Netflix?
Elite: Short Stories on Netflix serves two purposes.
The four episodes will bring closure for fans of the first three series, with many of the show's beloved characters moving on with their lives and away from Las Encinas at the end of season three.
Elite: Short Stories will also introduce some new cast members, including Manu Rios, Carla Diaz, Martina Cariddi, and Pol Granch, who will star as Las Encinas students Patrick, Ari, Mencia, and Phillippe, respectively.
Season three of Elite saw Lu (played by Danna Paola) kill Cayetana's (Georgina Amorós) boyfriend Polo (Álvaro Rico) and the students of Las Encinas corrupt the investigation by placing their fingerprints at the scene.
In the end, Lu was able to get away with murder, and Polo's death was ruled as suicide.
Also at the end of Elite season three Sam (Itzan Escamilla), Ander (Arón Piper), Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) and Rebe (Claudia Salas) all returned for another year at Las Encinas.
The final scene also saw Cayetana working as a janitor in the school as the class bell rang.
The short stories are not a spin-off to the third series but a stand-alone edition, allowing fans to see what their favorite characters got up to next over the summer and lead into the next season.
Episode One—Guzmán + Caye + Rebe
The first episode follows Guzmán, Caye, and Rebe. It premiered today (June 14) on Netflix worldwide.
The 40-minute episode, split into three parts, sees Guzman, Caye, and Rebe experience a bad high on magic mushrooms.
Rebe has moved house and her mother has promised them a fresh start but that quickly appears not to be the case when a huge amount of cocaine is found inside the home.

Episode Two—Nadia + Guzmán
Episode Two will follow a fan-favourite couple, Nadia (Mina El Hammani) and Guzmán.
In the first short, Guzmán reveals concerns about his and Nadia's future.
At the end of Elite season three, Nadia revealed she was going to New York with Lu to study. The couple made the decision to go long-distance with their relationship.
However, an eight-hour time difference and the fact Nadia is ignoring Guzmán isn't looking good for the couple.
Elite fans already know Nadia will not be returning for the fourth series of Elite, which hopefully isn't a sign Nadia and Guzmán's relationship is over for good.
The synopsis for the episode teases Nadia will be feeling conflicted about whether to see Guzmán when she returns to Spain for her sister's wedding.
Episode Three—Omar + Ander + Alexis
The penultimate episode, dealing with Omar (Omar Ayuso), Ander and Alexis drops Wednesday, June 16.
Elite fans will be hoping to find out more about Alexis (Jorge Clemente), who is a brand new character in the Elite universe.
Alexis made a small appearance in season three, comforting Ander while he received cancer treatment in hospital.
The pair helped each other during their chemotherapy but will pose a problem for Omar and Ander's relationship?
Episode Four—Carla + Samuel
The fourth and final episode of Elite: Short Stories will focus on Carla (Ester Expósito) and Samuel (Itzan Escamilla).
At the end of Elite season three, Carla departed Las Encinas to study abroad, leaving Samuel behind.
In Elite: Short Stories, Samuel rushes to the airport in one last attempt to stop Carla from leaving for London.
Like Nadia and Guzman in episode two, fans will hope the young couple's relationship will survive the distance.
Elite fans already know Ester Expósito, who plays Carla in Elite, will not be returning for the fourth series but Itzan Escamilla will be back Samuel.
Like Nadia and Guzman, hopefully, this isn't a sign of their relationship coming to an end.
